Hey, I'm loving the mod but it still shows the minimap. Do you know why it's not a compass? I replaced the .dll and patch files with no other issues besides the map not being a compass.
Thank you. There was a point during development where I opted to have the minimap be the compass, but I decided against it. I preferred the map because I didn't think a compass impacted difficulty in a meaningful way. Having a map and being able to see where I'm going was less annoying, I found. So basically the map was re-introduced after Ziggy removed it.
BTW, I was under the impression that mods stopped working after the latest patch. How is your setup going?
The biggest problem with Far Cry's from the third game onwards is the difficulty, it seems that everything is easy even when playing on high difficulties(mainly FC6) as if Ubisoft nowadays makes its games dedicated just for children. My problem with it is the very low recoil of the weapons, many resources that you find from the beginning and the possibility of seeing enemies through everything in the games... I've been looking for mods that make the game more challenging but unfortunately some have good points amid bad points, bad things like having all the weapons, equipment and skills at the beginning or most mods don't even seem to work as intended.
Your mod does almost this but has some bugs or missing things(just like other hardcore mods) I wanted to give your mod a few suggestions to make it great:
- Everything will be locked at the beginning(like vanilla) and will be unlocked only by progressing and increasing level - Reduce the amount of loot found, price of loot sold and the amount of XP gained - Increase the price of weapons, items, equipment and items needed for crafting - Slightly increase the variety of enemies and animals spread across the map - Improve enemy vision, response time and skill - Picking up weapons from enemies and unlocking towers does not make them unlock/free in the store - Weapons are more difficult to handle and the damage to all NPCs and the player will be the same - It will only be possible to see enemies through walls using a syringe or on the minimap Some mods to take as an example:
Hello, thanks for modifying the mod. I have a question, can you tell me which are the files that affect the stats of the weapons? I want to modify, for example, the maximum amount of ammunition for each weapon. I just need the file name, roughly, if it's not too much trouble. Thank you.
I'm actually not sure about this one and it was something I wondered myself. My suspicion was that the leaderboards or tracking capabilities for the trials were taken down years ago, but it's also possible that Ziggy made them inaccessible, though I don't believe that is the case - I believe it has to do with Ubisoft. Could be wrong, but it isn't the cause of this mod as far as I can tell.
Interesting. I don't know why it doesn't work as that wasn't a change that was implemented. Fast travel, however, was disabled by design. I felt that driving around as opposed to instant teleportation made the game more enjoyable as the game's driving is very fun for me, and it makes you engage in combat while driving.
As for the trials, yeah, I don't know what to say. Not sure why it isn't working. :/
Is there any way to revert the changes to field of view? I’ve tried setting the FOV as low as possible but my arms are still way far out in front of me
It's hard to please everyone when it comes to FOV, I know. There are ways to increase and decrease the FOV, and I think it's a mixture of editing the weapon files and the .dll. But I'm not entirely sure.
I know that's not the answer you wanted but I can try to put you in contact with someone much more knowledgeable than I if you want.
The minimap was something I initially wanted, and after re-enabling it, decided that it would be best to go without, for a few reasons:
1.) The lack of a minimap made things more difficult 2.) Couldn't find plants as easily 3.) Couldn't see enemies
All of the above made the experience more intense.
I also found that the minimap was very "noisy" - it had a lot going on that was, to me, distracting. So I decided to have it removed. Trust me, you don't miss it as much as you think you do.

There is a way to teach how to emerge them but adding and removing things from each one?
