Yeah, well, I found it's way more interesting to work on big projects like Winter in Appalachia (working on a big update rn) and I've lost interest in outfit mods almost completely long time ago.
You won't believe it, but I had it done this exact way long ago :D Black shiny leather, red scarf... The reason why I didn't upload it here was that I couldn't stand the ugly bottom part of the coat's mesh that does not really fit overall "glam" aesthetic of shiny new leather look.
I was really looking for more of a Dark Weathered Leather-look rather than the Shiny Black Glam look. Any chance you can tell me the Longcoats name and location? would love to mess with it, but couldn't find it in the .ba2's
Which .ba2 is that in? Never Mind, Found the Textures in SeventySix - Textures04.ba2 and the meshes in SeventySix - Materials.ba2
Well THAT didn't work lol, tried to Over write the Hunter Longcoat Textures and meshes with your Black Starlet Sniper Textures and the matching in game meshes and Uggg that looked awful, guess I need to leave it up to the Pros lol
You only need to swap meshes and leave the textures in their original folders since the meshes retain the links to the textures they initially used. Take the starlet sniper outfit mesh, put it into corresponding hunter's mesh folder and rename it accordingly. Then just use my starlet sniper outfit mod (that one needs a quality update btw, I think I'll do it soon) as intended, both outfits will use the same mesh and textures.
Wow! Thank You! worked fine for the most part but there does seem to be a bit of clipping on the Right Front Leg (I uploaded a screenshot to your Starlet Sniper - Black Edition mod) but I may not have done all the meshes right, I'll go over them again. Look Forward to a newer version!
As I see from that screen, you're still trying to use SS outfit textures with hunter's coat meshes. This won't work for obvious reasons (outfits with different meshes have different texture layouts. If there's a shirt where the legs supposed to be, the game won't magically switch the body parts and apply the texture in the right way, the mesh always uses designated texture parts for designated model parts).
What I offered to do is to use starlet sniper outfut model _in place_ of hunter's long coat model. If you follow my instructions carefully, this is what you'll actually get. And the outfit will use its native textures as a result, so ecerything will work just fine. (Sorry, I can't publish such mods for obvious reasons since it's basically making atomic shop outfits available for free) Starlet Sniper outfit textures will never apply correctly to other outfits, unfortunately there's nothing that can be done here.
I Extracted the 3 starletsniper.bgsm, starlersnipergloves.bgsm, and starletsniperhat.bgsm, renamed them to hunteroutfit_body.bgsm, hunteroutfit_gloves.bgsm, and hunteroutfit_helmet.bgsm and placed them in materials\dlc03\clothes\hunter folder then created a new General .ba2 called HCoatM.ba2 and imported that folder. I then imported the 4 .dds files from your BSS.ba2 file into my General Tex.ba2 and added the HCoatM.ba2 to my Fallout76custom.ini (The Tex.ba2 was already there) and that was the Picture I got. Please let me know if any of this is wrong as I will admit I'm not sure. Thank you For all Your Help!
This is what went wrong here: You took materials (bgsm files) from SeventySix - Materials.ba2 and you needed to swap meshes (.nif files) from SeventySix - Meshes.ba2
It might be confusing which one to rename to which since there a several different meshes for one seemingly same thing in these folders. You need to put meshes (.nif files) from meshes\atx\clothes\starletsniper to meshes\dlc03\clothes\hunter Rename them according to this scheme: starletsniperf.nif -> foutfit.nif (this is the main mesh, the full outfit) starletsniperf_1p.nif -> foufit1st_person.nif (this is what you see from the 1st person view, specifically the hands of the model) starletsniper_go.nif -> outfitgo.nif (this is the folded version of the outfit as you see it in the inventory) starletsniperf_gloves.nif -> foutfit_gloves.nif (this is the gloves mesh, thankfully both outfits have gloves as a separate part of the main model)
This is for female version of the outfit. Male versions contain letter "m" instead of "f" in their title, so following the same scheme will do the trick with these filenames too.
Please note, that for meshes you need a specific type of the .ba2 archive. For instance putting meshes into the archive where the textures were won't do the trick. The simple solution here is to use other archive that already has working meshes and add your new meshes to it. Then delete other meshes from it and save the archive with a different name.
I consider this is one of your and Arianna Watson'sF76Masterworks, my friend.
I could spend some time Google'ing it, but, can you please link me to a Profile Page somewhere for Arianna Watson? (Even if it's on a Russian Mod site or 2D or 3D art site )Thanks in advance. [ ENDORSED] Cheers Rigell. Reflectively,BorderXer
Oh, bro, you're making tiny pieces of ideas become art, it's just so perfect that I can't decide which one I want to use, though at least one of these is my personal request :D Hope this modding phase of yours will last enough for you to do something even better (if that's even possible to beat this masterpiece). Looking forward to seeing your works all over the hot section!
These look great! What settings on what program did you use to edit these? I've been trying to edit my texture files for personal use and my dds settings must be wrong as they don't show up in game.
Thank you! You need to use intel dds plugin with signed normal maps support (from this same nexus). Also, for _d maps you can use simple BC1 DX10+, For _l - BC1 Linear (always should be linear for _l), for _n - normal map Linear Signed, for _r - BC1 DX10+. That'll work for sure. You can also try better quality formats like BC7 Fine DX11+ for _d and _r and see if it works for you.
Thank you! I will try that and see how it goes. If I literally only want to darken my brotherhood of steel combat armor, do I need to edit anything other than the _d? If not, i'll look into what needs to be done with the other stuff as well.
You're right, it's not necessary to change anything else. Just desaturate and darken every piece of it with a single adjustment layer, save it as bc1 dx10+, pack it into a ba2 archive (don't forget that it should be in the same exact folder where it initially sits in the archive) and see where it goes. I actually thought about doing it myself a year ago when I first acquired my heavy combat armor uny/ap/sent set. But then I thought that I never really run without an outfit and neither do most other players, so I won't really look at it anyway. So yeah, I postponed it indefinitely.
I was able to get it working. Thank you for your support! The bc1 part really helped. There were so many options on which to pick. Also, again, great mod that you've uploaded!
Fantastic looking. I've wanted something like this for some time, and this was a great surprise to see. Bethesda has dropped the ball with offering something else in game like this dress.
Thank you! Yeah, that's a real shame they only offer some whacky/military/postapoc stuff and seem to forget tgat there's a ton of fashionable pre-war clothing many people might like to wear instead of all that.

I'm not planning on updating it as I just don't use it anymore.

It is my sister's nickname here on Nexus. She does not upload her own mods but we worked on this one (and some other ones) together -))
