What are you using to obtain the image file to modify? Are you just pulling out the image file (DDS?) make your changes and then put the new one back in. Are you using Creation Engine? Is there a version of G.E.C.K. or maybe FO76Edit? I'm also guessing Photoshop. I want to be able to change say, the color of an in-game shirt or replace a painting on the wall.
I just unpacked everything from the game's textures/meshes/materials archives (you can use either Archive2 or BAE for that purpose) to a separate folder to simplify searching for the ones I need. There is an xEdit version suitable for FO76, it's called EcksEdit, you can find it on dataminers' discord. For simple mods like this one you just need to edit one texture set in photoshop (it usually consists of 4 textures that include diffuse, normal, lighting and specular maps). To save them you'll need a proper photoshop plugin with SNORM support, you can find it here. After editing I pack the new files to a new ba2 file using Archive2 app.
If you'll have any further questions, please pm me so we won't clog the mod's comments section with off-top dioscussions :D
If you can't do it, that's fine - I may take the idea and run with it in a few days, but...
If you could, I would suggest taking some of the alternating moths in the wallpaper and using the Blending Options mode in a separate layer to make them fade in and out on the paper (not animated, but one solid and one less so). I don't mean using opacity, either, but more like the Dissolve effect like the Mothman Statue does (if you look at the wings, the paper already does this to some small extent). I think this would be really neat, true to the theme, and really add a bit of panache to your mod. You could have a standard option for each color and a Dissolve option. Just a thought. Good luck with the mod - looks awesome so far! :)
I am particularly fond of Purple Black (the pics don't do it justice) and Radioactive, but to each their own. Please feel free to delete this post if or after you choose to include these in your downloadable files (I'd rather not "steal your thunder," so to speak, with a separate release). Again - thanks for this. :)
P.S. These are deliberately not as "clean" looking as what you've done. There should be a different version of four of your five selections, also - but I did opt to leave the Violet selection alone.

Hello Daniel ( Mod author name Berdusk, NexusMods.com profile name Flowerguy360 ).
Better (very) late than never... Well at least I talked with you about this and many of your other marvellous mod-worx while in F76 together, and I think in a private post. In truth, I thought I had posted something to you here.
Great job on these wallpapers buddy. [ ENDORSED] I hope to see another mod from you soon, especially true when "Real game-changer mods, ( not only GUI / text-graphic overlay mods, texture replacers, and mesh swaps ), become a reality within the "instanced player home bases" called Vault Shelters. My guess on when this may launch would be no sooner than after the 2nd quarter of 2021. Plus, with Microsoft having purchased Bethesda, maybe sooner, or my guess is that least it would be a more glitch-free and feature-rich initial release than it may otherwise have been.
Keep in mind that Microsoft had already bought a couple software development companies in 2018, companies who had staff with strong experience in Fallout game creation, story writing, and engine design : Obsidian Entertainment inXile Entertainment (maybe more than those two with Fallout 3>, plus online tech, experienced members) I was drawn to re-read this mod's posts because of Rigell's A.W.R. - All Wallpapers Retextured - Hi Rigell !
