Keep in mind that this is more like a "beta" version of the mod (which is stated on the mod version), as I'm still learning my way around editing textures on 76. The next releases should be focused on optimizing the textures and water quality, if there's anything that can be done about it. Without a Creation Kit, I honestly think it's impossible to improve things forther aside from reducing the textures sizes.
To everyone that comes here wondering why the water looks so bad over distance, this is a copy of one of my posts here:
Even on FO4 the water wasn't that great, and it looked horrible and flat when looking at a certain distance, and it was even worse on LOD which looked like paper lol. 76's water is somewhat nice, with new effects like reflections and such, but inheriting the same problem as with FO4, with very low-res water textures (which I somewhat "fixed") and crappy detail distance/LOD. Another thing is that the water is probably handled by the game in the same way as in FO4, meaning that water surface color, depth, and other stuff depends on the weather and sky color, all those things are controled by the game's .ESM file so there's no way to "fix this" if the game doesn't support mods/loading custom .esp's. When I was making this mod, I've digged into the game's archives and looked at every file named "water" and there was nothing that could be done for the flat distant water as we see. Ofcourse, I might've missed something, but without any CK available for this game it's pretty hard to do stuff like this.
Is there any problem with every Water mods currently? Always had E.Water in my mod list, yet just reinstall game today, and every water source are invisible.
Same happened to me, but removing the mod didnt fix it, i had to delete the fallout76 ini for graphics config from my documents folder and set all my settings again to fix it
Hi I wanna uninstall the mod but for some reason no matter what I do it won't uninstall. Ive tried deleting ba2 files, ini files, repairing the games downloade and I can't figure out what to do. Ive uninstalled other mods fine but I downloaded this one a while ago and kinda recognized its done a hit on my performance, can someone help?
I would say it actually looks TOO DETAILED and the pattern is way too much. If you could create a less "dense" version of the texture (basically, make the tile 2x bigger) - I think it would help much.
The water reflections are ugly as hell and look really bad, I'd honestly prefer to turn them off altogether. Is there anyway to do this? I'm on PC so I can change the .ini settings and all.
I don't often add comment, but wow, great mod, especially if you take into account the limitation of modding F76, this is MILES better than the weird original oil texture, Morrowind had better water texture than F76.
I like how this mod makes the water look clearer instead of milky default. I would like to see different surface textures but I know your limited. I noticed very little reflection on the water's surface which is annoying. Hopefully you can improve this. Endorsed and Recommended as he clearly descriptions what this mod changes and it does just that.
