   This is a great idea for a mod...but do the things show up once you have discovered them? If not, I think you should head back to the drawing board.

      The icons that you can click on to fast travel do appear. Just like in any other Fallout game.
      
      The fancy drawings will not appear as the map is just one big texture, think of it like a big photograph.
      There is no way to change it on the fly.
      
      However if you would like me to make a custom version for you and put back some of the fancy drawings I might be able to do that for you.

   How do i ACTUALLY install this mod?

      I believe you need to go into the data pack, replace the file, then pack it back up.
      Alternatively you could try to use one of the mods that forces the game to load loose files.
