Little late to the party here, but recently found this mod and love it! Great for not missing loot/drops!
I realize this has been out for a few years, and you may no longer play/be active on here. However, if I could make a request, could you please update this to do the same with ash and goo piles? ๐ I tried to do this myself (having only played around light modding for like 1 hour prior) and just can't figure it out (yet). I did manage to get some goo piles to have a golden balloon somehow, though, haha.
Sadly the mod does not work for me. All of the meatpiles and ashes and such remain normal. Also tested a few other similar mods and they all seem to work without issues.
If there is a unique balloon(orcouple/afewaof'em)inF76 somewhere, then that may be the answer to the issue of these balloons having collision.I they exist, the single or small number of multiple instances of balloons that are unique can be replaced with differences like: No collision, other colours, checkered red & white - or textures of two "$bags"(per balloon)

wrapping around & still look great (not too distorted). Who knows, maybe this can be part of a cure to the stated issue of increased FPS drops mentioned in the bugs tab of this mod.
I am in part referring to advice from ThatSpartacusGuy:
Just edit the material file associated with that nif. If you need to know which file to edit, right-click the nif file and choose "Edit with Notepad" or whatever other text editor you use. In that file will be a lot of hex-code gibberish, but the only legible text in there just happens to be the location and name of the material file the mesh uses. Don't actually edit this file, use it as a reference for the file you need to extract from vanilla ba2.
After extracting the vanilla material file you need, use Material Editor (FO4 mod tool), to change the file paths and names of the textures being used by the material file. Package this edited material file inside the same ba2 as your meshes, making sure to keep it's vanilla file path intact. The downside is that any item also using this same material file will also inherit the texture changes you make.
Could you make the baloons shoot through/not solid?
Mod works great, but when the balloons spawn where other enemies are you can't shoot through the balloons. Especially bad if there are too many meat piles/baloons.
Love this mod makes looting so much easier especially in places like the bog. Just one major down side I am running into often is the balloons have collision so when too many build up and there is no time to loot them they can obstruct movement and shooting at targets. Events like Uranium Fever and Radiation Rumble are prime examples. There is no time to loot because mobs are spawning too fast and the loot would weight you down while you need to be able to sprint. They also get in the way of things you are trying to shoot at which can be a serious problem especially in Radiation Rumble. So I am wondering is there any possible way to have non collision balloons? Ones you can run and shoot through but still loot? Wish I had some screen shots of Radiation Rumble, I actually had to loot my way out of a corner to make a clear path to get through, and there was quite a lot of balloons to loot.
Hi, great work so far, probably the best meat pile mod around here - here comes the question - could you also add all other pile types? Ash and that green one etc? If there is a lot of enemies and people are using energy weapons, this mod is almost useless:( Thanks in advance!
hi does this only effect meat piles or does it change ash/plasma piles too?im getting tired of killing scorchbeasts for them to turn into an ashpile and being hidden by grass. if it dosnt do you plan on making one that does?
Thanks for the glowing variants Nipper. To get around the collision inconvenience, you might consider creating a step by step guide* : ยทCopying all files / folders for the short or tall balloons objects to a "mod tweak" folder. ยทUsing "Material Editor",you might show us how to : ยทMake the objects glow & how to adjust glow values.(a)Light value within bounds of object, (b)Light that extends outside bounds of object,(c)Shining of light on surrounding objects. Using F76Edit or Creation Kit,you would show us howto: ยทRemove it's collision. I wonder it's ''Actor Collision'' value is only "on or off" ( Boolean ), or if it's adjustable, floating-point or integer ? If it's the latter, we could set it to resist our character passing through them ''just right''. ยทIt would be great if they were slightly (more than slightly) more translucent / semi-transparent. ยทCreate a new folder called balloon-meatpiles. Save those tweaked loose files each within appropriately named folders ยทBack In "Material Editor", change file paths and names of the textures being used so that instead of the targets being the F76 default ones, they go to those we tweaked. *ThatSpartacusGuy,if you are reading,I find your ability to instruct here on the Nexus to be excellent & if you learned how to do a couple of these things - "Giver" buddy ! I mean;I beseach thee, Benevolent Leader, teach us the ways of the Nif - etc.
the collision issue is the only reason i have to uninstall the mod... in many of the events i lay down a carpet of dead meatpiles.. => impassable barrier of balloons... :(... it also seems to prevent enemies from spawning.. if there is a meatpile balloon right at the spawn point. but that also could be coincidence.
