So as it stands, I've managed to replace the Amusement park uniform with Captain Cade's outfit and it works perfectly. The problem that I'm having is that since Captain Kells outfit was removed from the game files (it's actually the only thing I have come across that bethesda apparently didn't carry over from Fallout 4), I am having some serious trouble replacing another outfit with his.
If I simply replaced the outfits mesh with Kells', I need to direct it to the appropriate material file to apply the texture. The classic Field Scribe outfit and Captain Cade's version both have their own dedicated material files that are set up to apply those particular textures, to that exact model. The problem here is that attempting to replace a material file causes the game to crash. The only two material files capable of applying a scribe mesh to the scribe outfit, are the stock version and Cade's. I could replace the amusement park outfits texture with that of Captain Kells', but if I use the amusement park outfits material file, it will attempt to apply that texture to the exact spots it would on the amusement park outfits model. I can't replace another outfits material file to properly apply the texture. Essentially what I'm trying to say is, I can only add either Kells' outfit or Cade's outfit as a replacement for a separate outfit. As it stands right now, I don't think both can be added.
I am more than happy to upload two copies of the mod that replace the amusement park outfit with either Cade's or Kells' outfit, but I can't do both. Also, bear in mind I'm pretty new to this, so I might have just missed a way to make this work. If anything about what I just said is wrong please let me know. Anyway, let me know if you'd like me to go ahead and upload those two separate versions.
I hope you realize how awesome you are, cant wait to download this when I get back to my apartment. Also, are you able to swap over modded textures as well or is that a whole 'nother thing? Because I would kill for Tacoduck's Circle of Steel outfit in place of the Science Scribe or Drifter Outfit, I think preferably the drifter outfit. Gotta live out those BoS fantasies somehow.
It could be done in theory, but in this case there are two problems. First, I'd need permission (this probably wouldn't be a huge issue). Second, you can't import any outfits that have physics. The bottom part of the tunic has physics and would just look absolutely abysmal if it we're imported (I tried to add the gloves back to Maxson's battlecoat, but when it was imported the bottom part of the coat never moved.) Hopefully in the future that limitation will be removed, because there are a lot of outfits I'd love to port over!
Is it that they cant be edited? Because the physics for Tacoducks outfit is the same as the actual Science Scribe outfit, but again, I'm completely ignorant of this stuff. Thanks for the response and the mod and responding to my.abaurdly ignorant questions.
Captain Cade's replacement uses a modified mesh from Fallout 4, but the mesh is just modified to utilize the texture for the outfit. That texture is stored in Fallout 76. Captain Kells' replacement is done a bit differently. The texture for his outfit was apparently removed from 76, so not only did I need a modified mesh, I needed to actually copy the texture from Fallout 4 and set it to replace the default texture.
In short, these replacements are predominately from Fallout 4.
Is your character similar looking to that French, English and ( ? ) action movie actor on purpose? Anyways, that actor's characters are awesome plus I am fluently bilingual Fr & En and want to see one of his movies in mostly French one day. He plays a mercenary, special weapons and/or explosives specialist, often keeping a young person's life under his protection.

Quick question: Are these replacements you made from files that are already in 76 or did you somehow convert Fallout 4 files?
