Folks, please read the description before reporting issues. You need the meshes from the Required Files. This will not work with the vanilla Fallout 76 vault suit. I cannot fix user error.

Hey mate, awesome mod - I'm wondering what file you mean with "Click and drag your mesh file" here:

    "BodySlide and Outfit Studio ?
No picture here because it's too simple.

Right-click your Outfit Studio .exe in your FO4 folder and create a shortcut on your desktop.
Click and drag your mesh file over to the shortcut to load it with OS.
Top right of screen, right-click one of the mesh pieces and select Properties
There will be a box to select the material file."

I just have ba2 files and the xml one of my CBBE Preset, what file do I need to convert (and with which tool?) to make it accessible in OutfitStudio?

The mesh that is created by BodySlide and placed into your FO4 data folder when you press "Build" inside BodySlide.

this one's not super important, but when i first installed tis, there was some nice vault booty on my blue hexa vault suit (as seen in your pictures). the latest patch came out and i reinstalled this mod and the other required mod and now it looks like the normal vault suit.is this particular mod the one with the nice figure and the curves? i'm simply using the cloudy01 method of installation. thanks!

I am using my own custom CBBE meshes in my photos, not the ones from the required mod. I have that mod listed as a requirement so those not using CBBE can have a simple Plug-n-Play with this mod. I gave detailed instructions in the description on how to get your own FO4 CBBE meshes to work in FO76 with these textures.

Come on fellow Nexians, Appalachian Amigos, Amigas, Jumpin' Human Beans !
There is a few dozen downloads of the Proto V S to date,
( no need to add-up every variant ), but only 8 endorsements.
Let's show nitronizer ( person's actual name is Zulfa )

    cool profile image eh ?
ca.gifthat you appreciate this mod whether you [ ENDORSED ]
nitronizer's Fallout 4 version or not.
I do not care about that being Zulfa's only mod on the Nexus.
BTW, Zulfa was last active here on

The F4 mod's page has been viewed 2.26 Million times. 330,000 unique DLs ---> 342,204 more
since not long after July 12th (my orig post date). Nearly a million total ---> now 1,019,727 since
    July 12th.
I do care that this is my 1st Multi Player Game & a prequel to a series of PC game
worlds I've always enjoyed tremendously. I am sure F 76 mod authors need more
ENDORSEMENTS, keeping in mind that Nexus Mods does pay mod authors $ on mods if
conditions are met. A surprisingly small percent of PC players that I come across
use mods or even know about the surprising variety of mods so far, even though
authors are deprived of an "Appalachian Creation App" I made that name up, no rumour
spreading please . Also give carefully considered feedback and constructive criticism.
Please ease-up on the "could you do this & change that ?" sort of posts, unless you
really think it will add to it's popularity & improve it.
( + a donation of what you can spare & think is fair, if you can. I finally started
donating and for me, it feels great to start giving back = saying thank you very much
with my wallet not just my keyboard. )
Update : By the time I got back & finished this post that I had backed-up
DLs were at 73 & endorsements at 16. Less than 5 % of PVS's downloaders return
16 or more mins later to click an official thank-you.

I know there's a delay of at least 1 day for those of use who use, like myself,

the Nexus "Auto pop-up endorsement select" feature - but please realize that a pop-up blocker
could cause it to never appear.
Let's give "That Spartacus Guy" an easy 1 click thumbs-up to say : Way Ta Be T.S.G.!
He and other modders that he's built trust with, shared valuable knowledge
& discoveries, have worked hard, and still do, to learn the completely additional
things that must be done to convert aspects of textures (among other things) of
objects : actors, armour, military supplies, hunting / survival supplies, etc, from prior
Bethesda game file formats. His attention to detail, how informative & inclusive
he has been with us, the very fine work he's done on Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 mods
deserves your clicking on the important "I like it, Thank You button = [ ENDORSED ].
And maybe to donate to him, especially if you wish to see ThatSpartacusGuy get back to
releasing a new mod for Fallout 76 here sooner instead of later (...or worse, never )
yes, "Ditto" for many other high quality mod authors within Nexus Mods F 76.

    Hi,

I don't understand the last part of your tutorial

"If you generated your mesh initially in BodySlide, rename it's corresponding .tri file to foutfit.tri"

Where do I find this file? and then where do i place it?

EDIT: Nevermind I'm dumb, the .tri file is in the same folder where I got my vault suit mesh in my fallout 4 folder.
EDIT 2: Can't get my custom tri file to work I've followed your instructions as best I could :(
EDIT 3: OK I finally figured it out. It's not mentioned in the description but in very first line in the Vault suit Nifskope file you've got to set the correct path to the .tri file. Mines was still using the path from my fallout 4 directory
    Thanks for a great mod!

Thank you for porting this awesome mod! Your instructions on nifskope are very clear and I'm inspired to tackle importing from cbbe/fo4 but in the meantime your instruction on downloading the fo4 vault suit mod first or "These will not work for the vanilla Fallout 76 vault suit mesh..." has me a little confused. I'm using the ba2 method for modding at the moment and from what I gleaned from your instructions is that I need merely to install the fo4 vault suit ba2 and then install your proto vault suit ba2 next in the fallout76custom.ini load order. Is this correct? Please forgive my ignorance, I am not a programmer by any means, I'm asking for clarification because I really want to run this mod. Thank you for your time and have a great day!

Doesn't matter what order you place them in your ini. This mod is textures only, that mod is meshes only. If you want to make absolutely sure, you can place ProtoVaultSuit after FO4VaultSuit.
