Sorry mate , but to do it as an installer application , where I guarantee myself for the installed applications that I don't trust , it's really useless to download and nowadays to install foreign applications , where even my laptop will warn me about a faulty application is a total waste and besides nowadays , only a lazy person who thinks that he can't get a virus from a foreign application will install this and I personally don't care that I write here that the folder is checked ... As an idea good , but until millions of people have downloaded this then I prefer to do everything manually .
Totally get your concerns manual installs are always the safest route if you don’t fully trust a tool. NukaMods is just meant to make managing mods easier, especially for quick enabling and disabling them. It’s not open source, so I understand the caution. Appreciate the honest feedback!
The program looks potentially good, but it really lacks a manual way to install mods, like in quick configuration. This method should definitely be in a good application, because many mods may not work correctly when installed from an archive.
Either your computer is infected or it is false positive, here's the scan results of the mod file, you can verify with the hash and date. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/8051e83afbe10f9e4efd00d720ed124b0613cb63545e4fd1cc33f3ad4b06ff61?nocache=1
I am thinking it is a false positive. When I try to download a fresh one I get the same warning. Going to do a full scan and see what happens. It is Housecall that is picking it up...
You may try to add it to exclusion if Housecall allows that. The detection Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml is a false positive. The "ml" at the end indicates it was flagged by a machine learning model, which can sometimes result in a higher chance of false positives.
No worries at all, I totally understand the concern. I'm really glad you double-checked and even more so that you enjoy the program! Thanks for updating your post and for the kind words.
Might be silly but how do I install this with a game that is already running mods? Do I remove them then put them back? I have never used a mod manager before
Yes, that's what you've got to do. You don't need to touch your .ini file though, just re-install the mods using Nukamods and the rest will be managed by it.
Which platform? Nukamods should be able to launch the game for Xbox or Steam installed versions. Keep in mind that you don't have to launch the game through the app. It is just there for convenience.
Powershell comes with Windows 10/11 installed, so if you are on those there might be a different issue that I have to think of. To move the mod order just change the order number and click on the Mods button at the sidebar again if you want the page to be refreshed with the updated order (you don't need to refresh the page for it to take affect in game, order of the mods will be instantly updated as you change it but you will see them sit still until you refresh the page)
Hello, I wish I could say yes but; I don't have SteamOS, nor I have steamdeck. Until a stable release of this mod I am not considering supporting other OS or devices. That would slow down the progress of main beneficial features for a mod manager. In the future I want this to be usable in any device or OS though.
Hi there, I've checked it and it won't be installed with Nukamods, main reason being that the zip file contains two .ba2 files and .xml file as well as a folder. Nukamods has no problem installing multiple .ba2s within a single archive but if the archive includes another file other than .ba2 then it won't proceed, because Nukamods won't know to which .ba2 those other files belong to. As Nukamods relates other files with a .ba2 but when there are multiple of them, it won't proceed. What you can do is try and extract the mod to a folder, separate one .ba2 from the other and zip them separately, one of them should have the extra files that come with the mod. And then you can install those both archives separately. I know this is a hassle but for now this is the only way to install such a mod type with Nukamods.
In the future I will think of a way to handle exceptions like this.
Fixing platform selection and game directory is taking a bit longer than expected, but it should be resolved in the next version. In the meantime, a workaround is to use two separate instances of NukaMods; one for Steam and one for Xbox. Since the app is portable, this approach should work just fine without needing to switch platforms in the settings each time. Thanks for your patience!

Just got picked up as a severe Trojan Threat on my computer. Don't understand this.Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!mlhttps://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/8051e83afbe10f9e4efd00d720ed124b0613cb63545e4fd1cc33f3ad4b06ff61?nocache=1

Changing the platform under settings, does not change the game directory and vice versa.
I also started the app as admin to be sure, did not help.
Is it working dor you?
