Good news everyone - your voices have been heard! Bethesda will be officially implementing the Known plans tag for plans and recipes that you have already learnt in the next update coming end-Jan. It's great to see that Bethesda is on-the-ball with QOL changes and improvements to the game, especially considering how much players have been asking for this feature since the game's release.
Thank you all for your amazing support and kind words for the mod! Since this feature is now an official addition, there will be no further updates to this mod. You can safely uninstall the mod by removing the single dxgi.dll file that you copied to your Fallout 76 installation directory when you installed the mod.
For those looking to change the (Known) tag to something less obtrusive, now that the tag is just an in-game string, standard mods can modify this text by changing in-game strings - no engine modifications needed. You may want to check out Icon Prefixes which replaces the (Known) tag with a checkmark.
Any chance this could make a comeback in order to move the (known) tag to appear AFTER the unkown plans?
after a while you know so many more than you dont that its a very annoying scroll when at the Whitespring hitting all the vendors for a specific plan...
Make it stop. Every time I start it tells me "KnownPlans is not compatible" but it has been removed. All files gone. Where is the error coming from? There is a text log in the root, but deleting it fails. it just makes a new one with this error in it.
This ain't a Bethesda hate post but damn I've got to say it, your implementation was better.
From the use of the wrong brackets (cluttering the top of the list) to using the 'known' word (truncating the plan name); I'm a bit surprised, if not shocked that Bethesda decided to implement it that way.
registrator if you so good in modding i hav and idea for another QOL mod for you!
ability to type numbers when dropping/trading/withdrawing/depositing items, replace silly slider! also ability to sell smthing less then 1 caps per unit
Thanks - I've added a link to that mod in the sticky for those looking to replace the (Known) tag with something less obtrusive.
PS: I used square brackets in this mod precisely to place Known plans at the bottom of inventory lists. Round brackets would have caused (Known) plans to sort right to the top of the inventory, cluttering up the first thing you see when you trade with vendors. Unfortunately, round brackets was exactly what Bethesda opted for.
Can someone help. After the patch, the game won't launch. It says Known Plans is not compatable with this version. I tried fixing the game files, deleting dxgi.dll, deleting dxgi.dll + fixing the game files and uninstalling + redownloading it but I keep on getting the error. When I launch the game with the dxgi.dll, it says the Known Plans is not compatible with the version and if I delete dxgi.dll and run the game without it, the game just crashes without an error.
ok wow, i have also uninstalled the dxgi.dll and i dont get the error message appearing anymore so thats good, but i click join world and it counts down to 0 then it CTD's and i dont have the show health mod either, shrugs, i can only possibly think of maybe checking out and seeing if there are any other updates to other user interface mods i have installed, other then that im not sure what it is, as i mentioned i have uninstalled this mod now =/
I'm having the same issue. Tried removing the mod, but the game still says knownPLans and the file still show up in there, even when its deleted it's putting it's self back in? How Help? I am not computer savvy in this stuff.

As the game tells me, KP is no longer compatible....

replaces the (Known) tag with a checkmark. Very useful.
