The latest update changed the Map file and requires updating in order to use the menu to enter an Expedition. Make sure you update Uni Map to fix this.
Updated Calendar for Season 16
2 New Locations added to the Fast Travel Menu (Rose Room and Mire's Eye)
How to Install (Main Files): Download the main file if you just want to deal with one file (7GB).
Optional Files: If you prefer to break up your downloads, you'll find those files under optional files. Download each Essentials Uni Map Map Book zip file (Parts 1-8). Extract each individual archive to the same folder/directory. Right click on the first file in the sequence (ending in .001) and select "extract to".
Not sure if this was answered before, but I use Fallout76 Quick Configuration since I was unable to figure out how to get Vortex to properly work with the GamePass version of FO. (It kept trying to write Fallout76Custom.ini , wouldn't let me define where the GP version of FO76 was installed, etc.) In any case, FO76 QC modifies the Project76Custom.ini file with the Archive section looking like this:
Is that an acceptable entry for the mod? Every time I try to add UniMap.ba2, Maps.ba2, FO76 QC removes those entries. I haven't been able to get the markers/maps from your mod to display. Any help would be appreciated. Or a link to the location of a solution if this has been answered before. Thanks!
One thing I did notice is that even though I removed MapBook Sample in the UniMap Manager, on the bottom of the map it mentions [BOOK] MapBook Sample. Additionally Home/End does not change the book selected.
"There have been reports of users having issues installing this mod using a Mod Manager. If you experience issues, please install this mod manually following the instructions above."
I added the files manually before writing this. I will try modifying the custom ini file and not start the game using the mod manager to see if it works if the entry isn't changed.
I've install the mods manually and follow each step, only installing the ba2 from the other mod, having a custom . ini file, and everything, and for some reason when i open the map it freezes and does not work. I don't know what i did wrong.
Yes, there are many outdated maps right now. With the next update including the expanded in-game map I will have to recreate all 100+ maps. This is going to take a lot of time and effort so there is no sense doing so right now. I can't guarantee that I will bring the Minerva one back as I only really made it for myself and now that I have everything from her sales I no longer use it.
I had unimap + essentials installed and they were working without a problem.
I wanted to add "02-TZMM-Jack-o'-lantern ORANGE-YELLOW" custom markers to my map but when I did the unimap interfaces and pages stopped working, they don't even show up.
Can't I have the custom markers work on top of Unimap Essentials?
Thank you so much for your response, from first hand... Is there any similar custom markers (at least different color team markers) solution from Unimap's side?
Not that I know of. The reason you can't use both is because they both are replacing the same file. Its one or the other.
If you're looking for a mod to help you locate team members on the map easier, UniMap has a feature that draws lines showing you exactly where they are on the map (in addition to camps, quests, other players etc).
That is a great feature but it's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a way to change the team mate custom marker on hud, so that I don't mistakenly go towards it instead of mine.
Thank you so much for your answers. I hope someone from the unimap team, add this as a feature someday... Is there a place where I can request wishlist features?
There are no mods that do this. I looked for the same thing when I started playing. All the mods out there that change colors only do so for actual player markers, camps etc.
Hello! I know this is an old post, but I've been trying to do the same. I followed this guy's video and got it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwlTxzlxiJk
So basically I did: (UMM) Installed UniMapMgr program, added the large MapBook (UniMapMgr Installation Wizard), and exported UniMapConfig (QC) Added [Archive] sResourceArchive2List=UniMap.ba2, Maps.ba2 to Custom tweaks - Fallout76Custom.ini (QC) Added UniMap.ba2 and UniMapSampleMap4K.ba2 into the Mod Manager and deployed (UMM) Modified and exported UniMapConfig again just in case
For some reason I can't get the Map Legend to pop Up. Idk if it's a compatibility issue with another mod? Any Info would help. (btw) Everything else works fine. just Legend Not showing
It might be a good idea to break this up in to different folders for download. It takes well over an hour minimum to download without premium, and a lot longer because of problems. Perhaps 1GB-2GB files for download would be a little more manageable?
Nexus doesn't allow uploading of zip/rar files that are multipart (.001, .002 etc). Not sure what else I can do aside from gutting half of the maps out of the package.
you can actually upload them as seperate main files Main File Unimap Part 1 Unimap Part1.zip Main File Unimap Part 2 Unimap Part2.zip etc thats how nmc textures handle the huge files and 7zip can create two zip files that contain a single file but to exract the file you need two zip files thats a very ancient method cuz we got slow internet connection back in the day
I've tried doing that but Nexus won't allow the files to be uploaded. They have a strict file type check. If it isn't a rar, zip, 7z, exe or omod, it can't be uploaded.
When creating a split volume archive, it names each file with a .xx extension (File.7z.01, File.7z.02 etc). Nexus does not allow these types of files to be uploaded. I've tried using .zip, but the restriction remains.
If they are other ways around this, let me know.
Figured it out. I made a multi-part archive and then individually zipped up each part (1GB chunks). It requires more HDD space (temporarily), but it should be easier to download. If it goes well and I don't have to field a million tech support questions over it I'll continue doing this for future releases. Not sure what this is going to do to download managers, but you shouldn't be using those with this mod as it can cause all sorts of trouble.
I understand why you did this but some of us have premium and/or do not want 12 additional files for 1 mod in our large list of mods. Bringing the single large file back in addition to the split files would be amazing, thank you for this great mod.

Is it possible to get detailed installation instructions for use with Quick Configuration, please?
