The way this FX is done in the game is so player un-friendly making the game barely playable. And especially when the scorched beast get buggy and keep screaming NON-STOP at you, it actually becomes game breaking.
This is not a "Game changing" mod that gives a player an advantage over others... it's a "Quality of life" mod... You are fighting an NPC... Not another player in PVP...
And more over, i'm not epileptic... but i might become one if i don't use this mod...
true, ive foudn im almost closing my eyes during normal scorchbeast encounters, i suffer greatly from flashing images, dont get me started on a new bug recently encountered where the worls seems to strobe when loading a new area, bleh
JoeBlow90: It IS a game changing mod, it directly makes the fight easier even if the current effect is too stupidly bright/big. Of course, all the item glowing mods have a similar problem , but combat related mods are something they're more likely to frown on. I doubt anyone will ever get banned over stuff like this, but they may disable it eventually.
This mod is a welcome change in my opinion, I quit even trying to go and fight scorch beasts because of the broken animations and the VERY over the top scream effects. Which takes away from the gameplay and experience for myself and any other person who can't even see the damn thing when it does this to them.
This game does NOT have any traditional party mechanics in use for anyone [even a solo] player to have a proper tank build. Where the tank would aggro the boss, [ as a veteran tank class player, from many well known MMO's for the last 15+ years] and get backed against a wall or structure and can't see a damn thing but the Boss's attack effects causing a bad acid trip and horribly planned light show all over the damn screen, all the while the other players, DPS, [and Heals], would be behind or to the side with a wonderful view of the tank being bombarded by the wonderful light show, and clearly seeing the boss. This is NOT the case in FO76 and with the Scorchbeast. There are NO perks or mechanics in this game where a person or a person of a team can aggro [and there are NO aggro perks or mechanics to keep the Boss's attention on the tank in this game] the boss, or even have any kind of damage buffs from having "BOSS AGGRO" because of the most certain blinding situation they will be in. So pretty much anyone who can manage to do enough damage to the boss gains aggro, which in turn, [if the boss isn't already one-shotted by a broken ass damage system] keeps the Scorchbeast constantly in the air and bobbing around like a raft on the ocean in a hurricane all the while spamming this damn attack NON-STOP.
Now, with that being said, If there was an actual "Tank" mechanic, with actual perks and associated gains that a person could build to, then I would agree that this would be "Game-Changing," and would give a an unfair advantage. But since there are none, and as of now there are still people who play who haven't been able to get that, "Broken assed damage one shot the Scorch-queen," weapon yet from having 50 + hours a week to farm legendaries from server hoping then YES, this [In MY opinion] is a welcome mod to the game. My wife and I [lvls 45 and 52] have killed 13 Scorch beasts ourselves, ranging from lvl 50 to 80. Doing nothing but wasting ammo and stimpacks because 90 percent of the time we can't even see the damn thing from the scream effects. My wife has a shotgun build so she has to be up close, and i'm running a commando build and in turn have to be conservative with my weapon to keep in from breaking in the middle of battle. Having a decent view of the already hard as hell to hit Scorchbeast is very welcome. If for some reason, Bethesda, sees this post, and decides to somehow implement a proper tank build where a person can get/hold/use aggro to keep the boss busy for the DPS/Heals in their party, or other players, I will then retract my support for this mod and others like it. Until then, let it be. If you don't need this because you're already "SUPER AWESOME" at killing Scorch-beasts and already have earned the ATOMS for killing 7600 of them, good for you, you're a better gamer than me. Also, i'm willing to bet, if you are posting comments on this page you are more than likely able to download and use this mod yourself. So in what way is this "UNFAIR" to anyone. It's FREE, and can be installed by anyone willing to learn how to install mods on their PC. From what I understand also is PC players DON'T share worlds with XBOX1 or PS4 players [ who themselves, if done correctly can just as easily install this mod on their consoles given time] so it's not like PC players will have an advantage over them either. Just because they made an active choice to purchase a different platform also doesn't mean we can't have what they can't.
Thank You Peasly for your work on this mod, and thank you so much for sharing it with the community. Axle
No. Bethesda even announced it themselves that the Scorchbeast scream attacks was triggering way too much, and tried to tone it down and fix it.... and they failed! It was in the patch notes. So no. It takes the freaking community to fix the spaghetti code that Beth themselves actually looked at.... and can't even fix. This mod isn't cheating. It's literally just doing what Bethesda can't do themselves.
Helppppp pls it doesn't work :( i put the texture file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher\games\Fallout76\Data and added the line of code to the custom ini but to no avail any help is much appreciated <3
The file is in ba2 format, you will need to place that file directly into just your "DATA" folder, and then make sure that the ba2 file name is correctly added to your fallout76custom.ini file. If you placed it in your "texture" folder as stated then the ini won't read the ba2 and it won't work as intended.
Thank you for this! One of my friends that plays has epilepsy and fighting scorchbeasts especially at night just isn't possible for him due to the insane lights of the breath attack. Hopefully this will fix the problem for him. Thanks again.
***This helped so much. He was able to fight his first scorchbeast a couple days ago. You have done the Fallout 76 community a great service with this. THANKS AGAIN!!!
This is IMHO the #1 MUST HAVE Mod for FO76. I can actually score some non VATS ranged hits on the things while they're in flight. If you haven't installed this do it NOW, you'll thank me later.

I guess she uses a different animation?
Thanks for the awesome mod either way!
I hope this helps
