I have a Fallout76 config file that is an .ini file along with the prefs file. Do I need to rename the config file to the Fallout76Custom or create another file? I am a bit confused by this. I tried to add the lines you say to add at the end of the archive section, but when I launched the game there was no change, so I exited, and looked at the file again and the lines I added weren't there any longer (yes, I saved the file after editing it. :P)
EDIT: Ok, I think I got it to work. I have to have the three files in total, Fallout76Prefs, Fallou76 ini file and the Fallout76Custom... correct? Everything seems to be much more green anyway.... :P
Yeah, as it's stated in the description, you needed to create fallout76custom.ini, as the game keeps that one intact for your own settings.
fallout76.ini gets overwritten by some default settings, but you still can edit the prefs one if you need additional tweaking. Still better to put the same lines under fallout76custom.ini though if you want to tweak stuff.
EDIT: Just in case others have my issue, I figured it out. Its some kind of problem with Windows 11 default extractor. I downloaded WinRar and boom, no more issue!
Everytime I try to extra the files to the Data folder on Windows 11 I get an unknown error saying it won't let me. Any clue? I even did a fresh uninstall (including My Documents files) of the game and redownloaded the mod files 3 separate times and still no dice. It will not let me put the files in there
I've been avoiding win 11 like firesince its release and I'have always been using winrar, so I don't know why that happens. I'm glad that your issue has resolved!
It doesn't have anything to do with the updates breaking stuff, as it is just a texture replacer, it never gets broken by updates.
You gotta doublecheck if you have everything written correctly in your custom ini file (it must be called project76custom.ini for the gamepass version to see the mods you install. My installation instructions only describe steam version installation, so you will need to do all the same actions, but with the files/directories appropriate to your version of the game) and all mod files in your project76/data folder.
Thanks, Rigell! I am on gamepass and was at my wits end, and the project vs fallout naming thing was what fixed it for me!
Gamepass/microsoft store users ONLY:
This is the fix. On gamepass you need to copy the vortex generated/generated from instructions fallout76custom.ini and rename it to Project76Custom.ini
Project, not fallout.
Also, for those copying from the regular .ini using some peoples instructions, it appears theres sResourceArchiveList2 in the normal ini and in the customs it seems to be sResourceArchive2List.. which is different. I am using 2List, not List2...
In addition, something I am not sure about but am using, you may need the info from the normal ini that at the time of writing begins with SeventySix - Animations.ba2, and ends with the SeventySix - EnlightenExteriors02.ba2, but various places didn't seem to ask us to paste that in there in the custom also.
Either way, these are the steps that got it working for me.
I'm currently running this alongside Enchanted Forests, and I have to say that I am in love. The only complaint- if you can call it that- I have is that the Toxic Waste region no longer has that iconic ghastly white dead look to it. I know it may be silly to say this about a visual overhaul that brings spring to Appalachia, but is there anything that could be done about this?
Thank you! Glad you liked my Enchanted forests as well :D
Well, that's the way we designed the mod, it supposed to look different in all regions. It's highly unlikely we'll return to it to remake the entire biome.
Странно, я кажется сделал всё по инструкции, но у меня игра вообще не запускается. Как понять что я сделал не так? Может есть видео урок как всё сделать правильно?

Glad the mod works on your end now!
