I recently replayed Half-Life 2 and took quite a liking to the geiger counter sound. Thus I took the liberty of making a mod for it for Fallout 76, so here it is.

Oddly enough, Half-Life 2 has a dynamic system in place for making geiger counter sounds, there only being 3 individual ticks in the game's files, while Fallout 4/76 has 7 levels (A-G), each with 4 different variants. So instead of painstakingly placing 3 tick sounds sporadically over several files, I recorded gameplay footage from Half-Life 2 of me slowly stepping towards a radioactive puddle, and went through the ~10 minutes of audio to grab the appropriate sounds.

To install, first create a "Fallout76Custom.ini" in the following directory (if you don't already have one):
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\

Then, put the following lines in the Fallout76Custom.ini:
[Archive]
sResourceArchive2List = HL2GeigerCounter.ba2,

or, if you have multiple mods:
[Archive]
sResourceArchive2List = ExampleMod1.ba2, ExampleMod2.ba2, HL2GeigerCounter.ba2,

then, simply place "HL2GeigerCounter.ba2" in your Fallout 76 data directory, which by default is:
C:\BethesdaDotNet\Bethesda.net Launcher\games\Fallout76\Data\

or, if you have the game on Steam:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout76\Data\
