Any chance we could get a version that replaces Rose's Raider Radio music but keeps her DJ interruptions? The elevator music on her channel is trash and it makes me sad. I already use a replacer for classical, but would love a replacer for Raider Radio.
Though now that I think about it, I don't know if there's enough audio on the looping elevator music to fit enough songs on. Not sure about that.
Endorsed enthusiastically. There's a lot of fun music here, and it works well in the game. (Current favorite: You Can't Get a Man With a Gun, just edging out Bop-Ting-a-Ling.) Thanks for your work putting it together.
I hope you do have time to finish up the other tracks, and maybe normalize the volume -- I noticed the difference in volume a lot the first hour I so I had this running, but less after that. But even if you don't, this is great as it is.
I'm currently working on introducing two hosts using F76VA Synth - xVASynth and a few more songs, as well as normalizing the volume.
Unfortunately, my keyboard is malfunctioning, which makes writing the host's lines take much longer than it should. (Even had to spend extra time on this comment alone, removing all the odd inserted characters without a working delete key)
I too have noticed volumes being low on some and louder on some and well it is to be expected to hear some crackling due to the digitization of vinyl, I can hear it slightly on some tracks, but is very bearable.
Is it possible to make a mod that allows us to put our own music into a radio station? I'm dying to hear my own music in game, without having to have a separate music player up all of the time I'm surprised and sad that nobody has made a mod for that yet :/
Well, I guess it's technically possible. The only big obstacle I can see for this is the length of the audio files used by the game.
The tracks are chosen by the server, not the client, so everyone can hear the same radio songs at the same time. If you swap out a song for a different one, the server will still move to the next song at the default time, no matter if the song you put in is still going. That means that songs that are longer than the original will be chopped off. If they're shorter, you end up with long pauses.
I can make a "mod" that lets you do what you want, but it wouldn't consider song lengths, especially with Classic Radio, where some of the default songs are up to 11min long.
On the "quiet" parts due to the potential for the new tracks to be shorter than the old ones. You could try adding some generic static to the tracks to fill in that time if finding tracks of the right length has been difficult? Nothing too intrusive, but it would at least fit the setting I suppose. The same goes for tracks that are too long - you could try cutting them yourself by adding a radio channel switching noise in before the game cuts the track itself.
