Updated! 23/10/24

Changelog 1.10:
Updated for latest fallout 76 version (new lines added for full compatibility + fixed depth of field)

So this is just an easy alternative to My Guide in steam

Files consist in custom configs, made and tested by me. There are 3 different versions:

F76Fixes with ultra textures recommended for cards with 8 GB or more.
F76Fixes with High textures recommended for cards with 6 GB or more.
F76Fixes with Medium textures + 1K shadows recommended only for old hardware.

First:

  • Manually download the desired .ini in Files section.
  • Then go to Documents\My Games\Fallout 76, paste it and overwrite.

Note:
VSync is now activated as default to prevent serious engine tied bugs.

After:

  • If you want to unlock fps anyway  you can edit the line "iPresentInterval=1" inside the ini file and change the 1 with a 0.
  • Make sure to cap your frames with your graphic card software to whatever you desire after that because you will face engine bugs. In short if you can't move your character (know engine bug for unlocking frames) then lower down the fps cap.

Important to check
:

  • Resolution in the .ini is 1920x1080 if you want to change that just change this
    lines to whatever you desire, and don't forget to save:

iSize W=
iSize H=

Note: You can also change your resolution in-game, and you can touch most setting in-game besides the obvious that will override my settings like shadows, textures, lights etc..

Extra notes:

  • If you don't like effects like Sao, Volumetric lighting disabled or you think you can handle that, you can enable them again but this are very demanding effects specially volumetric lighning. It can be enabled by changing this lines from 0 to this values:

bVolumetricLightingEnable=1  (high perfomance impact)

iVolumetricLightingTextureQuality=1 or 2 for better quality  (high perfomance impact)

bSAOEnable=1  (medium perfomance impact)

AMD users "molerat complex" bug, aka character sink on terrain

  • To fix this its also very simple just go to your Radeon settings sofware go to Fallout 76 profile scroll down and in tesellation select "override" and pick x16 option. ENJOY

I did this changes based on my F4 settings and hours of testing in fallout 76, this not only removes drops but also gives a huge gain in frames without losing visual quality, from 49 fps to more than 100 was my gain and i only have a modest RX 480 with 8GB, so give it a try :)
