I've got two issues that may or may not be related to this mod... 1. Archie's face doesn't animate when he speaks. 2. He will engage in combat, but only wth his fists, regardless of what weapon I give him and have him equip.
Ive been looking through everything i know as wells as play testing it which ill be continueing tonight using only archie and he uses all weapons ive given. So its most likely conflict. If you can get me a list of your mods i can try to find out if your using mo2 theres the list you can copy and paste not sure about vortex.
The last two are the output file from Complex Item Sorter and a few item tweaks I've made not covered by other mods (mostly changing weight/value/tagging).
@SoulesFury Hey I have the same problem (no face animations) and first thought it would be random bug or smth. And because of this post I first looked for the problem elsewhere but it seems to be this mod. Startet a new game only with this esp and teleported Archie to me, had the same problem. Startet a new game without the mod but with my other mods and his mouth moved (also on/off-tested X-Cell and the X-Cell over Buffout Config because I dont know much about modding). I tested this with in and after the lab and when you first encounter him. I found somewhat of a solution. When Archie is loaded the first time in a save (like Mary Ellis) the esp just mustnt be activatated and after saving the esp can be loaded and his mouth still moves. Even worked when the esp was activated before and atleast still works when meeting him again with Ferry. No idea whats causing it like non esp mods but I hope this info can help anyone in any way. its very strange because I'm using the same mod loaded on here without this face problem, so im thinking its maybe a conflict with something else i haven't been able to find a fix or a problem for that matter but still actively working on it thanks for the info
I am aware of the issue where his mouth does not move when speaking and reported not using weapons. The mouth not moving I cannot recreate on my end I've attached a video to show testing, the sound is bollocks. If anyone having this issue can get a clip and your load order I can try again but, on my end, its looking like a conflict with another mod. The only mods on my end are this one and the required London files. And the Not using a weapon mod has been solved by dropping this to bottom of your load order both on my end and a user reported that to work.
So I tried starting a new character with only this mod installed and Archie still had no facial animation, so I am currently doing a full reinstall of Fallout 4 GOTY and Fallout London in the hopes that it might solve the issue. I'll report back with my results once the install finishes.
Doing a fresh install of both Fallout 4 GOTY and Fallout London did not resolve the issue. I created a new profile in Vortex with only this mod and the two required Fallout London files, created a new character, and summoned Archie, but his facial animations were still absent. Removed this mod and repeated the process and his facial animations were back. What version of Fallout 4 are you using, SoulesFury? I know the chances are slim, but if you are on the Steam version, maybe that's why the animations still work for you?
Tested the Face Fix version and tested it with a new game. First time loading him (in Mary Ellis or by teleporting him) works or in other words the problem should be solved!
Heya - you can fix the issue with the face animations by removing the Simple Actor flag which was added. It’s a good idea to clean your mod in xEdit as well. The creation kit tends to duplicate and include a bunch of crap - in this case you have unchanged duplicates of dozens of armor records. The issue with including these is that they are still overwrites, leading to more chance of conflicts with other mods.
This mod i think is causing all female vagabonds to sound like archie or is that normal dont remember them sounding like archie anyone else have this problem?
no problem, i know some are waiting for the fix because when in settlement he will scale up to normal size when idling at a work bench but I am working on some Unreal Engine classes and play testing a new game fixing to drop on steam there's already a demo its a solo dev he worked on all the bethesda games called The Axis Unseen. soon as this is all done ill get his scaling fix if you have any other issues let me know i will help if i can.
I’m confused. I can’t tell from your description if he should or shouldn’t start with the outfit change? I installed it and he has his normal outfit on. I will try him in combat soon to see if the mod works.
you can equip other items to him at first it was changing the default outfit for him but then it was changed to where you can equip any trench coats in game to him as well as cigs
I really appreciate making him be able to wear the red trench coat. It looks good on him. But I noticed his hands disappear. It’s not a big deal for me, but just an FYI.
Any chance you can make a version that is just the outfits and no changes to his combat? I enjoy him not engaging in combat but would love more outfit variety for the kid.
you mean just give him outfit changes? i could possibly get that though i really only made him able to wear trench coats i can play around with some of the others too
You can already assign a different outfit to Archie. I have a tan suit, the usual jeans and t-shirt outfit and a trousers and sweater top outfit that I bought off a vendor in (IIRC) Thameshaven. Just look for clothes labelled 'Child's' at the beginning of their name. 😎
