Nexus Modder's Guild have now expanded into a Skyrim Chapter.

As such, we need to start thinking about how to run this guild on a larger scale. This will be done with CLRs. Chapter Leader Referendums. Ideally, we'd simply have direct democracy, but we lack the time and resources to co-ordinate large scale referendums.

So what is a CLR? Each Chapter Leader will be entitled to one vote. This is intended for larger decisions within the guild. Including the elections of new Chapter Leaders, and also changes called upon by the community. However, if there is a demonstrably large scale demand from the community, then we will simply skip voting and implement whatever demands provided it's practically feasible.

All referendum votes will be made public, and Chapter Leaders will have to take responsibility to justify their votes if publicly challenged. This level of transparency is vital to maintain a healthy democratic structure in the guild. These people represent you, and you have a right to know what choices they make on your behalf.

Votes can either be Aye or Nay.

In the event of a draw, a cointoss will settle the matter. I will perform the cointoss, and people may ask me in advance to record it. Should that level of transparency be demanded.

All referendums must be announced at least two days before the voting deadline.

All in-depth discussion about referendums between Chapter Leaders must occur openly in the Jabberwocky forums, so that the community may participate and provide input. Deviating from doing so is one of the few violations from which a chapter leader may be removed. This might seem harsh, but it is vital to assure democratic transparency, and protect the guild from corruption, closed door deals, and lobbying.

    Announcement:

This is the first announcement. I'd simply like to congratulate everyone on contributing, this Guild is becoming highly autonomous. That's good. Because even though I want to, I can't do everything.
