THE TERMS OF USE HAVE BEEN UPDATED, PLEASE REVIEW CHANGES AT THE BOTTOM

This is very simple. Copy-paste the following into your permissions area:

Fill in the [square bracket fields], and you're done.

The following mod is incorporated into the Modder's Guild Terms of Use Framework (v2.0). You have the following rights and obligations:

    - You may incorporate any files within this mod that I, the author, hold distribution rights to.
    - You do not need to seek permission to do this.
    - You must credit me for my work by adding the contents of the Credits section of this mod page into your own credits section.
    - As per all Modder's Guild mods, you must also be prepared to in return for using Guild protected assets, to share any mods you create containing Guild protected files, under the Modder's Guild terms of use. Thereby allowing other Modder's Guild mods to use your files. As you may use theirs.

To clarify the above, if you use Modder's Guild assets. You must also use this Terms Of Use Framework to allow other members of the Modder's Guild to use your assets.

    - Modder's Guild assets may not be distributed within a commercial product without permission from the author. Even then, the original terms apply, and all commercial assets originally belonging to the product's author. Must be provided to Guild Modders for use.

[YOUR NAME] would also like to provide these demands when you publish their items:

[Do not upload on any page other than The Nexus.]
[Do not include my files in lore breaking mods.]
[You can add more, but try to be sensible. Abusing this feature simply to use other people's mods is not okay. Also keep in mind that the former two are just examples. The entire demands section is optional. If you're fine with just the basic terms, then you can omit this section entirely.]
[You can also include a MEMO: section here for comments that are not demands. Example:

MEMO: The texture for the enhanced hunting rifle were made by X, and cannot be distributed without their permission.

    Stuff like that.]

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To modders looking to implement these files:
Be sure to include the demands for each individual author. It's recommended to make a list of them at the bottom of your terms of use in the following fashion:

(AUTHOR1) would also like to provide these demands when you use their content:
    (Author's Demands)
(AUTHOR2) would also like to provide these demands when you use their content:
    (Author's Demands)
(AUTHOR3) would also like to provide these demands when you use their content:
    (Author's Demands)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is essential that your username in the permissions section is the same username found in the credits section.

As for the credits section. Credit things using the Creative Commons format. It's been made to be both simple, and legally substantiated.

    [CONTENT] by [AUTHOR]

Just like that. Nothing more, nothing less. List all the content, and all the authors. You can separate several authors who made the same content by commas. Example:

"3d Modelling by Jeff, Fred, Alex, and Another Fred"

This will allow modders to easily incorporate your credits into their own credit files. To see examples of this. Check out the credits section on this mod page.

Here are also the BB code snippets for the smaller logos on the front page. Just copy and paste these lines of code into your mod page, and that's that. The images will also link people to the Modder's Guild, so they have some idea of what it all means.

Due to a bug with Nexus' page design. The code snippets do not show up. To see them, visit this link here to view this thread on the forum.

    UPDATE:

    v. 1.5 :Added Commercial use clause.
    Also clarified Modder's Guild use.

    v. 2.0: Added commercial use condition that, even with permission from the author to use assets for commercial use. You still need to provide any original content within the commercial product as a Modder's Guild resource. Meaning that if we do allow people to use our stuff commercially, we might get some professionally made assets to use in our mods in return. I'd say that's a fair bargain.
