This mod should be working without issue now. 4 color options, 4 glows & no glow option. Vanilla & AWKCR/AE versions. Only works with Nanosuit 4.1. Also, now Nanosuit recolor options are sex-specific (no more opposite sex options) - big thanks to VlitS for the FO4edit tips to make this happen.
Installation note: Ensure you have the proper masters installed and activated - see description for details. Without these you CTD.
Future: probably no further development for this mod, except minor fixes if/when they are discovered. Any further development will be related to Nanosuit 5.0 (please don't hold your breath).
Hi All, There was a bug post for v1.3 of this mod that suggested that there was no male color option for the NanoSuit. As far as I can tell from testing, this is not a bug.
If you find you are missing color options for male or female suits, this is likely because you are playing a character of the opposite sex. By default, with v1.3 I've added a condition to check character sex prior to displaying crafting options. Therefore, if you are a female character, the male color options will not show up (and vice versa).
If you play a character of one sex but regularly have a companion of the opposite sex and want to craft color-changed suits for opposite sex companions, it is easier to stick with v1.21 of this mod which by default always displays both male and female suit color options. The pre-crafting, sex-checking condition is the only difference between 1.21 (condition absent) and 1.3 (condition present).
You could use v1.3 with sex-checking condition and use the sexchange console command prior to crafting to change colors for an opposite sex suit, but that's probably more work than its worth (just use 1.21).
Sorry I missed this comment previously. By now you may have updated to Nanosuit 5.0 which makes my response pointless, but if not, can you send me some screenshots of your crafting attempts from the armor workbench where you apply the color change (not the armorsmith bench or chem station)? I'm just reinstalling NS4.1 to check this and put together some shots of how it should look.
If you do get to updating the mod for Nanosuit 5, might I suggest making the COBJ's for the suit use the GetIsSex conditional? That way, the male version only shows up for male characters, and the female version only shows up for female characters?
I'll take a look at this. Beyond very minor personal changes, I'm entirely new to using FO4edit in the last month. I didn't even know this was an option
can you get these colours to appear for NANOSUIT 5.0 by Vasstek or does this only work with with 4.1 version ? I ask this as I have 5.0 installed and i also have armour smith extended installed as well as the nanosuit patch on the armoursmith extended page and I don't believe I saw an option to change colour on the armour workbench!
EDIT! just noticed i had vanilla colours installed when i should of had the other version installed :p
I haven't tested this with NanoSuit 5.0. It was made for 4.1. 5.0 added some new items/options and also some changes to the file/folder structure. Also, Vasstek has changed some of the textures and materials file in the new version, so the recolors (and their respective materials files which tell the game which files to use) probably don't match up well. You may get some of the color options, but surely you won't get all of them. If I have some free time I might try to work on the new version, but that would take me some time.
The problem with color changing locking down users glow choice has been resolved. You can now change both the color and the glow in game. Selection is still limited, but more than the single choice you have without this mod.
Yes, right now I only have 3 craftable colors G/R/W (for each piece and for both M/F). And actually (oversight), while the default crafted item is black, I didn't add an option to change the color BACK to black if you change to one of the other 3. Unfortunately, if you want to the black version of one of the pieces back, you need to craft a new one. I'll fix it, probably tomorrow, but I'm about to go to bed (3am here). I'm working on adding more colors, but that will take me some time.
Short answer - hopefully. Long answer - Working on trying to figure that out. I could do it in the same way the Kerrigan color changer works, but that requires me to create a s#1t ton of new materials files and new entries in FO4edit. I'm trying an alternate method. For now you still have to select and change glow options manually - see Vasstek's page for instructions on manually changing glows.
I just tried to break my game and failed. I loaded Vasstek's nanosuit & nanohelmet, my color changed, AWKCR, and AR --> no crash. I thought it might conflict with Gambits Armorsmith Prototypes Extended v2.61 patch (this is a patch for AE to make various high tech armors craftable at the AE/AWKCR workbench) - still no crash. Trying SK now. Can you try disabling everything except Vasstek_Vaultsuit.esp Nanohelmet.esp NanosuitGlovesHelmetColorChange3ColorVanilla
Another attempt to cause CTD failed. I added in SK and Crafting Workbenches. No crash. I did lose the color change once I installed a mod that changes the keywords from vanilla, but I expected that & I'm working on a compatibility version.

Do you have both the main Vasstek_Vaultsuit.esp and the Nanohelmet.esp installed ^ activated from Vassteks Nanosuit 4.1? Also, by main menu, do you mean the game load menu, the main build mode menu, the chemistry menu, or the armor bench menu? I just disabled all of my mods except for Vasstek_Vaultsuit.esp and the Nanohelmet.esp and NanosuitGlovesHelmetColorChange3ColorVanilla. Worked fine for me.

Other thoughts quickly are keyword conflicts.
Are you using AWKCR, Armorsmith Extended, Crafting Workbenches? How about Gambit's Prototypes patch for AE? Because I did this first versions (as something of a test) with only vanilla keywords, it may not play nice with those. Testing now with AWKCR & AE & I'll get back to you.
**Edit, no problems/conflict with these (at least no CTD)

i even tried changing the color but no option appeared after to change the glow like it does in the kerrigan suit.
