MetroSpider's Mountain Men's Ammo Crafting was a simple yet useful and immersive ammo crafting mod. This mod makes several improvements to it.

  • "Mountain Man's Portable Reloading Kit" has been added and all recipes have been moved there. Crafted from the utility category of the Chemistry Station and thrown on the ground like a mine, it can be used as a workbench anywhere. (Does it look like a cooking pot? Yes it does......)
  • Added x10 recipes, not as artisan warming as reloading one round at a time, but not as industrial as manufacturing 100 rounds at a time.
  • Enabled scrap recipes that were unused in the original mod. 
  • Added various casings boxes containing 100 casings. They can be found in Arturo's store.
  • Other small fixes......

The method of making ammunition is the same as the original mod. Let me explain briefly.
  • All ammunition consists of a shell casing, black powder, bullet, and primer. As a general rule, the smaller caliber require less and the larger caliber require more resources for crafting.
  • Multiple casings can be crafted from a steel. In addition, shotshells require plastic.
  • Black powder can be crafted from acid, dirty water, saltpeter, and charcoal; 126 units are crafted at a time.
  • Saltpeter is a component added to some junk. Specifically, it is an Extinguisher, Bag of Fertilizer, and Toothpaste. It also adds shipments for 25 units.
  • Charcoal can be crafted from wood.
  • Bullets are crafted from Lead Lump; 45 Lead Lumps can be crafted from one Lead.
  • Primers are crafted from Acid and Copper.

Scrap ammo is an unused element in the original mod. Unnecessary ammunition can be scrapped and from there Lead Lump, Black Powder, Primer, and casings can be reused.

There is an optional patch for Munitions - Ammo Expansion Project.
Ammo added in Munitions can be crafted in the same way. Recipes refer to Munitions global variables, so only those related to the ammo to be used will be displayed.
However, this patch was originally created for personal use. I could not calculate the resource requirements as well as MetroSpider, so I copied the values from a record of similarly sized ammo. Also, some of the recipes will appear puzzling. ( I may fix that in time.)
