About this mod

Miss New Vegas' ammo crafting? FO4's mods a bit too complex or *GASP* unimmersive? Come on in, the lead fumes are only slightly toxic...

AMMO CRAFTING MOD

Also check out my other mod HERE, that adds more lead to the commonwealth without Leveled Lists or Scripts!

1. CRAFTING AMMO REALISTICALLY, WITHOUT A WASTELAND WIDE SCAVENGER HUNT

Based on real life components, I’ve created recipes for all conventional Munitions.
1. Making a round

i. Casing is first, made with simple steel, as this is a likely alternative to the lighter, yet fragile brass, especially since brass factories are extremely complex, and steel can be reused more. (hoping to implement a random empty casing collection event when firing guns.)

ii. Next is the bullet itself, made of lead, but not an entire friggin ingot! No no NO, one “lead” can be crafted into 45 lead lumps, which can be used in various quantities for bullets.

iii. Next is the gunpowder, or a primitive variant, Black powder. more on that later.

2. CASINGS
every recipe uses 1 steel ingot, and produces a realistic amount of casings, rule of thumb is "the bigger the casing, the less one ingot makes".
3. BULLETS
Same as with casings, each bullet requires a different amount of lead. the amount of lead lumps you need varies from bullet to bullet, one lead ingot will give 45 "lumps", and "the bigger the bullet, the more lead lumps needed".
4. BLACKPOWDER
Blackpowder is crafted with Acid, Saltpetre*, Charcoal†, and Dirty water (why waste clean water? bullet's don't give a rat's a$ about radiation!) and produces 12,632 grains, which seems like a lot, until you realize that most calibers need between 100 and 400 grains for a single round...like in real life, also that particular number of grains is the average I got from all my recorded black powder batches when I started making this mod, i usually try to use the same amount of ingredients, which is about the same as the recipe in-game.
*Saltpetre can be found in toothpaste, fertilizer, and fire extinguishers, (like in real life). also settlers may produce it if assigned to scavenging, aaand it has it's own leveled list, so unless another mod adds a leveled list with the exact same ID, it won't conflict.
†charcoal is made at a cooking station with 2 wood.

4.5 PRIMERS
Alright, this seems to be the most differing aspect mod to mod, as someone who has seen primers handmade, i can tell you, you'd need handloader rank 5 to do it by hand, without protective gear, at a campfire. but it can be done that way, as that's exactly how I saw it done, by an (no lie) old mountain man**.
•in post-apocalyptia, when making an ENTIRE round from scratch, use the same primer
for all calibers. This is Common D@mn Sense, according to Tom**, as he makes all his primers the same size ( he uses a .44 magnum, a .357, a 12ga and 20ga, a  .284 Winchester, and a .30-06. all made with the same primer.
**Tom, the true inspiration for this mod, is a nice old man living somewhere in a mountain range in a location I refuse to disclose, on account of his privacy. (idk if he'd even mind y'all knowing where, I just won't say outta respect.) anywho, he's lived up there for 40 odd years, when he finally got some property up there, cuz, and I quote, "them f#%$in' pinkos an' Reds are gonna blow us uppin smithereens, an' I ain't gon' be down in the fallout when they does!". Ain't he a real charmer?
5. THE FINAL PRODUCT, A ROUND
Alright, we've come this far. now for the final part! Casing, Primer, Black Powder, Bullet, WITH OUR POWERS COMBINED, WE ARE CAPTAIN PLA-oops, wrong situation... anywho, these 4 components make a single round, requiring one of each, sans Black Powder, which varies depending on the caliber, Rule of thumb is "bigger bullets need bigger loads, and pistols have bigger bullets than most rifles do".
