Another banger. I know you guys more in on conventional firearms but really want to see more energy weapons from you <3 Keep cooking, all guns are awesome.
Well, they're currently doing a month of classic Fallout weapons, and there aren't many energy weapons from that era that haven't been covered yet by them or someone loosely related.
I think all that remains is the original Plasma Rifle (what is now known as the Plasma Caster), as well as the Pulse Pistol and Rifle (the rifle currently has a mod, though it's rather old, you can find it by searching YK42B). Though if you include uniques, I don't think we have an mod for the original Alien Blaster or the Solar Scorcher.
For the billionth time, no. We cannot make an all in one because we keep making new stuff so it'll never be all in there. If we ever do something like that it would be when we're done making weapon mods which means no more mods and I'm pretty sure people don't want that.
I hope this is a clear enough answer so people stop asking this for a while.
"A DKS-501 Sniper Rifle. Excellent long range projectile weapon. Originally .308, this one is chambered in the more common 7.62 caliber." - Sniper Rifle description, Fallout Tactics
If we take this description of a different weapon from the same game as law, then 7.62mm as it appears in Tactics is not in fact 7.62x51mm/.308, but some other round of bullet diameter 7.62 millimeters, likely 7.62x39mm given the presence of AK rifles in the game that use the ammunition (granted, Tactics also features a .303 M14, so that may be subject to some skepticism). Yes, you may call me a nerd. I'm numb to the accusation by this point.
Don't worry though, I'd still say .308 is acceptable. I just might make some changes in FO4Edit to suit my preferences. Have a need for more 7.62 weapons to round out that caliber's options. Know of any good guides for that program? I feel a little lost using it.
This isn't a DKS-501? And that description is copied from fallout 2 where it was in .223, they probably didn't realize that they mean the same thing. plus ammo types in fallout are generally fluid and not specific. Also the FAL and M60 use 7.62, along with the m249, so defining it simply as the AK round because there's an AK in the game doesn't make sense to me since most of the guns that use it would be using it in it's .308 form.
DKS-501 was simply called the "Sniper Rifle" in the OG games. This weapon was the "Hunting Rifle." Both fired .223 ammo in those games. It's Dak and Pig's mod. They can make it whatever caliber works for them. If you want a different ammo, fire up FO4edit. It's a great tool. Munitions might come in handy too.
No one is going to call you a nerd. A nerd would have noticed that the quote says "DKS-501 Sniper Rifle", not "Colt Rangemaster" and taken that as a solid hint that they had clicked on the wrong weapon over on the wiki.
The 7.62x51mm NATO is a .308, but it is not the same as the .308 Winchester which is a commercial cartridge (the former being military); the .308 Winchester has a higher pressure. A weapon built for the .308 can safely fire the 7.62NATO, but one chambered for the NATO round, is not safe to fire the .308W.

Seriously though, this looks fantastic, as do a lot of your mods.
Thanks for all your hard work.
