    Fun fact.
    May have spoke too soon.

Edit: Quick run and go get kelp.

Would have loved this, but doesn't appear to work in VR. I did change it to .95 and removed the esl flag before I tried so that isn't the problem.

You changed what to .95? Do other grass mods work in VR? This one should if other grass ones do.

The version of your esp is 1.00. This does not work in VR so people have to change the version to .95. Yes, grass mods work in VR. Most mods for Fallout 4 work in VR. True Grass, Simple Green Retex, Grasslands, Natural Green Grass Shrubs and Trees, Luxor Summer and many more work, as I have tested them.

Hmm I didn't know about changing the version thing for VR. I have the VR version but haven't touched it since I first bought it. But if grass mods work in VR then this should too. It only changes around grass that the game spawns. I just made different textures spawn kelp instead of being blank. If this isn't working for VR then something else might be going on that is out of my skill set for now. Cause in theory this should work.

I didn't expect it not to work either and there are plenty of mods that should work in VR, but for some unknown reason they don't. It is possible since this was made initially with the esl flag that something necessary for it to work is tied to that even if I did remove the esl flag, since some mods work with the esl flag but many don't (Fallout 4 VR doesn't recognize, can't use, esl files; they don't even show up in Vortex plugin list). I have tested that idea too, before, with files that initially were just esp and then made to esl flagged, but both versions didn't work (CasshernX outfit replacement mods) so that probably wouldn't work for this either. I actually put this mod at the end of my load order to see if anything else was overriding it and still didn't work. I'm not a mod maker, just a gamer, so my thoughts just come from experimentation and information gathering. Thanks for the replies though.

I should also say that I do currently have 600+ active working esp's so it's possible there is a conflict somewhere. Maybe I'll test that later

I'll make a ESP version tomorrow to see if that will work. But if you know how to use FO4Edit you can see if anything is conflicting with my mod even tho if it's last mine should work but you never know. Maybe another mod has scripts or something that would cancel out mine? Idk. But I'll make a different version tomorrow, hopefully that will work.

Have you tested going straight from Coastal Cottage under that bridge where I am in the video? There's no kelp at all there?

Just ran FO4VREditQuickAutoClean and it didn't find any conflicts. Also went to Coastal Cottage and still nothing. I appreciate you making a new version, but if it's a lot of work don't worry about it; it's very possible it still wouldn't work anyway.

I really wanted to give good news here, but sadly it's still not working; and I did see that it is still at version 1 and changed it to .95 so that wasn't the issue. The good thing here is it's information, as I feel I can say with more certainty that a mod being esl flagged initially is not an issue (same as it wasn't with CasshernX). The esl flag might not let it work but people can easily remove that. Thank you for trying, I very much appreciate that and it still could totally be on my side here (not everyone in VR).

I like the thickness of first posting... add some duped and color-shifted kelps mixed in with the rest at 5% chance with Base Object Swapper, and this bad boy will be "chef's kiss"!

There's only 1 kelp texture. And I don't know how to use Base Object Swapper. Wish I did tho.

pretty nice looking, I'll recommend this whenever I eventually add to the Oceans in my series. Quick question though, does this work in Far Harbor too? Endorsed and kudo'd!

I haven't tested and of the DLCs. If the vanilla DLCs use those same textures then it will spawn kelp. If they used different textures for the Coast and Ocean then no it won't work.

I think they use the same textures if I'm remembering right from when I went to get the Marine armor so hopefully it does, I'll tell you if it does do it.

I just quick tested. Checked the ocean near the dock where you first load in. Seems like the ocean uses a different texture than the coast in the Commonwealth, so it won't work. Plus the FH ocean looked way more filled with kelp than the Commonwealth anyway. I might look at it down the road.

    Immersional!

I must note, very clever concerning the Landscape edit.

      Thank you.
I got lucky for whatever reason "kelp" does not spawn on land. Otherwise I couldn't make this mod since Wet Sand and Wet Ripple textures are used on the beach all over and underwater.

You could use xEdit to track down all "wet" sand CELL records.
Then override the Landscape flora with your kelp ;) if you havent used this technique already.

Hoooold up, your telling me I can actually track down landscape textures? I been flying all around in game looking for where certain textures are and I still can't find some.

Use xEdit > Filter > Filter by LAND use Fallout4.esm as reference for example ... might change your game CAUTION xD

Hmm I applied filter, then land. But I dont see landscape textures. Just shows all places objects. Maybe I did it wrong or something.

You can only search by LAND then you can search by the texture by hand using the text filed on the upper left corner, if you compare n+1 LAND records by the texutre name you want removed you can narrow down the records of interest.

Love it. What the oceans in Fallout needed. I always thought, why so barren?
    Thx for sharing.

No problem, I have a way thicker version I might put up but idk, it kinda looks too much. But yea that vanilla ocean is horribly empty.
