The talk to Nick bug isn't so much a bug. Using this just treats him as a dismissed companion and has him walk back 'home'. You can clear the objective simply by traveling to "talk to Nick".
Legendary mod. Even with the ability to blitz through all the pathways. Not being able to sprint or have any real shortcut makes this awful for replay value.

Also - I think the reason you have the "talk to Nick" thing is that after the quest you're supposed to immediately get that little dialogue where he sounds like Kellogg. I just used the console to type "prid 00002f25" and then "moveto player" to get him to pop up where he normally is (in the theater room) and the dialogue initiated, and then the quest cleared.
Comes handy when game decides to crash every time it teleports you into virtual reality, and there's absolutely nothing in load order that could cause it.
