General compatibility rule: If a weather mod edits existing files then it's compatible, if it adds new weather events and new luts it needs a patch. Lighting mods are more or less all compatible, the problem could be the brightness/contrast balance. In any case ACRL should be put at the end of both load orders, plugins and mod
Starting with version 1.4 I started to tweak the weather, while still maintaining compatibility with True Storms Desaturated the haze during clear weather and desaturated clouds and haze during cloudy weather, it should look more realistic now *only in the base game, later I will do the same with the DLCs
Miscellaneous files: BRIGHT Version: *NOT recommended* *Use ONLY if you find the mod too dark. *Significantly increases the brightness of night, interiors and bad weathers* *PROS:Improves visibility in darker situations *CONS: Flattens the 24-hour light cycle *the difference in brightness of sunrise sunset and noon has decreased this means you will not easily perceive the time of day based on the light The bright version is still based on the first version so it's not updated to subsequent versions.
Its amazing... I had problems with launching, the game crashed on startup, everything turned out to be very simple, I'm writing this for unfortunates like me - check the download order several times before writing. THE MOD IS AMAZING!
I'm on break at the moment, but I'm sure I'll be back playing and editing fo4 in a few weeks. If I remember correctly the problem with that mod was only the brightness.
I'm pretty sure there's some mod that allows you to adjust the brightness while you're in game. But it's important that this mod doesn't overwrite the files, it should be a simple in-game brightness slider.
Anyway, are you sure your monitor is calibrated? Only one user before you had this problem and eventually found out that the problem was the monitor calibration, you can find the discussion on the previous page.
This is a weird mod... the game has hundreds of image spaces to precisely modify weather events based on the time of day, this mod overwrites them all and uses a single image space.. this makes the game appear overexposed in many cases and in others too dark, it is impossible to balance the look of the game with a single file. Sorry but it's not compatible and trying to make a patch would give me a headache, you fix one weather event and break ten and vice versa
Could you please tell if is this compatible with the Weather and Lighting addon, in the optional files of the mod Horizon? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17374
I installed this mod and tried to start the game, after the opening speech happens the game crashes. Disabling this mod gives a positive result. Nevertheless, I find this mod excellent in every way. I would have given up on NACX even, but now, after a week of setting up the game and working with mods I'm already very tired and just want to play. I give your work a big thumbs up anyway!
Can the mod have incompatibilities with any other mods that affect the lighting in the game? The game crashes even if you do a load after the main start. P.S. I write this because others may have the same problems.
No problem, it's also my interest to fix any issues.
Again, there is no way my mod can cause a crash by itself, it's weird.
Any incompatibilities lead to the mod not activating fully, for example a weather event not known by my mod will still work but my mod will not activate on that event.
Maybe you are using some other add on for NAC? ENB? Old version of NAC? Load order is correct?
Thanks for your replies, with your integrity you even have the ability to pleasantly surprise! if I learn if it's even possible (to do it) I'll record a report on why the crash happens and post it here, although it seems that if it's really possible to do that, I'll figure out what the problem is and be able to fix it myself. Nevertheless, I'll post the document when I'm free, if that's likely! Thank you!
Regarding the weathers, I'm using weather synergy in my load order to allow both True Storms and Vivid weathers (personally using the vivid weathers as a priority). Do you forsee any problems if I download both, assuming following the load order of ACRL TS before ACRL Vivid? Or should I (finally) learn FO4Edit and make a merge patch. Not asking you to to cater to me, but curious on your thoughts.
hey i tried out this lighting mod and it seems to be working. if anything it inspired me to make more tweaks to my enb setup, and make things darker etc. i put acrl at the very bottom of the load order, over writing all files. i am running my own highly modified ENB settings. here are some screen shots.
Spoiler:
Show
my setup acrl disabled with enb on
with enb off
acrl enabled with enb on
with enb off
i can see why maybe for some people they might say things look blue. for me the the sky in the bottom pic is indigo vs light blue in the top pics.
Thank you. I'm playing in VR and am struggling between NAC and VW. NAC has loads of issues for me on on MGO and VW just is...toyetic.
I've been playing Skyrim MGO and have struggled to optimize it but got it somewhere really nice. Good frame times and 90hz no reproject. And it's just stunning.
I think i prefer fallout, just the gameplay, the gun play. This mod fixed exactly what was lacking, took all of one second to notice the difference it was stunning. Cheers
Edit: so I did notice a slight impact with Vivid Weathers with this mod in VR. Tested several times. Woke up today and decided to ditch VW and try again with vanilla weather.
with heavy cinematographic fog and vanilla weathers...*double cheff kiss*. Performance is a peach too. Think I'll start a play through of this on YT this summer while im out for uni.
Gonna smash the vote now after the endorse. Ty for modding fallout in 2025.
Thanks Since you are trying various combinations of mods I suggest you try NAC again, very soon I will publish a version of ACRL compatible with NAC X, the result surprised me for how good it is.. This is my ranking 1 ACRL for NAC 2 ACRL for TrueStorms or Vanilla 3 ACRL for VividW.

Keep it up this good work! THX
If I remember correctly the problem with that mod was only the brightness.
By the way, I have a question: is there a way to brighten only the interior?
But it's important that this mod doesn't overwrite the files, it should be a simple in-game brightness slider.

Also, I missed the discussion. Sorry about that.

Were you already using NAC or did you install it fresh?
You can try reading the crash log
There is no script in my mod so it can't cause a crash.
However you can try to re-enable it when you wake up in the vault
P.S. I write this because others may have the same problems.

Thanks for the awesome work!

i think image 3 looks best, enb on, acrl enabled.
