   This looks awesome, it feels like something a Pre-War company would sell on the market as a civilian-grade laser weapon with their invention and the expansion of federal bodies to govern them, such as the Bureau of Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco, Firearms, and Lasers

      ECO is your friend.  Equipment Crafting Overhaul.  Change the projectile and ammo type with a few clicks.
