No idea if this has been asked before (sorry if it has) but would you consider a similar improvement project for the Service Rifle by Deadpool instead?
Nah. That has been done by other mod authors before and quite honestly I find it too much technical nightmare to work with. Inconsistent animation issues that were never updated, overly complex customization, the lower and upper receiver system that results in misaligned iron sights on numerous configurations and the list goes on. It would be better if the gun was split into 2 guns. One for the Service rifle and *retro* Assault Carbine and one for the Marksman Carbine and Modernish Assault Carbine. But even then you still have the abundance of animation quirks which are fixed for F4NV but not the standalone release. https://youtu.be/ZYBgk8y50kI?si=wgD1VnAVk9Suy2tM
Wasteland Melody’s despite some quirks I fixed remained completely consistent and mostly bug free.
I see. I was mostly interested in that because of the uniques in that mod (and in the unofficial patch for it) as well as the possibily to switch over to a marksman carbine as you mentioned, however I was not aware that the mod really had that many issues. I guess I never noticed because I've always played with it while using the patch, and also I was able to fix sight misalignment issues myself in FO4Edit. Well, thanks for the quick response!
One of the main "issues" with Deadpool's Service Rifle is it's dual recievers mechanic that independently apply damage bonuses. Which isn't a major issue except that the OMODs for each use vanilla keywords and attach-points that are tied to perk/passive damage increases and other modifiers/mechanics. This often causes them to be applied more than once, and it isn't factored into the overall balancing of the weapon (outside of vanilla useage). Meaning that a patch needs to be made for any mod that effects anything that the those keywords even indirectly interact with. Which is a pretty big headache, hence the "technical nightmare" that Dia was referring to. A complete overhaul on the original mod is whats really be needed to address these things. There isn't really a need to overcome those hurdles since Melody's Rifle (and now this improvement mod) exists. Unless someone just really wanted to do alot more work for, effectively, the same outcome.
Especially, since Dia has dialed in these improvement projects so well. Great work btw!
Something similar happened to me (sights & the pistol magazines appearing craftable for other weapons). Check your load order, this mod needs to load after Wasteland Melody's Service Rifle like so:
1CAS_serviceRifle.esp WMServiceRifle_DiaRevival.esp That fixed it for me.
TBH I didn't mess with the flashlight at all. It's not something I use or really add onto my mods but I didn't want to remove it either. If someone does have a fix, I can incorporate it into the mod
If by "bugs out" you mean the flashlight stays on, then this is a vanilla bug. This happens because Bethesda didn't intend for this effect to be attached to a weapon and instead intended for it to be used for mining helmets and power armour helmets. If there is another issues besides that, then that's new to me.
Ya you're right I thought it would to cool to also at in attachments that give the service rifle marksman carbine attachments or hell idk maybe something even weird.
In no way am I disappointed this mod is a good addon and I am not getting rid of it. I'm only saying some extra attachments to make the service rifle look more my the marksman carbine. PS. I didn't mean to come off as snooty or know-it-all-like.
@T51bFo4fan Fair. My bad. Honestly if I added more attachments onto this, it would feel too bloated. I was already kinda stumped on what stats to use for the stocks here. Weapons like the Marksman Carbine would be better suited for it's own weapons like a MK-12. For what it's worth I'm working on a M16A4 and it'll have a rail barrel akin to the Marksman carbine. Only thing that would be missing is the stock but the carbine stocks would fit there.
No worries I'm expecting the world from someone who mods games for fun on their own time. Don't burn yourself out. PS. I can't wait to see what else you've got in store for us.

That fixed it for me.
I'm excited for you to finish your own AR mod one day. But until then I will use the classic mod in combination with your add-on. :3
