Perfection. A masterpiece. The best Hancock replacer ever.
I can see a bit of Norman Reedus (Daryl from Walking Dead) in the face, which is awesome. This is Hancock perfectly re-envisioned as a ghoulish pretty boy/bad boy.
Hey, might be a stupid question, but I wanted to ask anway. First of all, it is an amazing redesign of our most beloved - and Pipers second least favourite - mayor, in fact I am so amazed by it, that it made me want to play a ghoul playthrough, something I haven't done like ever and I'd like to use this look for it. It got the ruggish rogue charm, a certain youthfulness and the gritty yet strangely sexy appeal we would come to love from Hancock.
Is it possible to load it like a preset? If yes, how so? Been playing for years, but I haven't really touched any Race Change related stuff. Thanks for any answers!
Thanks for your kind words! <3 As for your question - it is not a stupid question, but it signals to me a bit of a lack of knowledge in how different types of mods work. A looksmenu preset is a JSON file that loads up certain values to the morphs of the face on the character you're editing. It's assigning these values in chargen. To put it in a very summed up way, hah. This mod is very different from that. This would absolutely not work as a loadable preset or anything of the sort - that is straight up not something in the scope of this mod at all. That said - it isn't impossible to make yourself look like this, but to be able to use these assets for the player, it would require a lot of work on your part - and if you're very new to modding that is going to feel discouraging fast, especially taking account of using a custom race.
Still, I'll give you pointers so you can do it yourself if you want to try, but I'm not going to go in depth. You'll need to look for tutorials yourself.
youd need to mark this hair as playable, replace a playable eye texture with this etc. (this is easy). youd also need to mark these things as headparts allowed for the ghoul race (a little harder)
you can replace the base ghoul head and texture if you don't care about being unique, or, if you do, use looksmenu tint api to load any face texture on looksmenu (for ghouls youd need to specify the ghoul race). unsure how you'd keep the headmesh unique to the player
youd need to load hancock's face as a preset if you want the same shape- since this mod doesnt change the morphs that should be relatively easier.
The piercings you can use the mod it comes from, just replace the meshes with the meshes i edited here so that theyre not too far back in his mouth due to differences between the ghoul and human head shapes :)
Thank you for your fast and helpful reply Cridow! I never really bothered with such in depth modding to be honest, sure I've done some stuff in Fo4Edit and the likes, but that doesn't mean I not up for trying it out! I really appreciate your work, and your pointers are most welcome <3
Oh snap, this looks great! I really like how his hair is all patchy but kinda wish he still had just a little more hair up top. Damn near perfect! Can't wait to see this in motion in my next run.
Wow!!! Just incredible work! He looks perfect... He's still Hancock, and an obvious ghoul, but you bring the (recent) circumstances of his ghoulification to the forefront. Rather than resembling an average ghoul, distinguished only by his outfit, you've made him unique, as he deserves.
This is the first Hancock replacer that I absolutely love. I've recently been sucked into Kingdom Come Deliverance I, but I'm downloading this for sure when I return to FO4.
Honestly, one thing many players seem to miss or forget is Hancock is the younger brother of (former) Mayor McDonough so in-game, he was only in his late 20s or so when he ghoulified himself. He'd be in much better shape than most other ghouls even after a decade of hard drugs and booze in Goodneighbor. Most of his hair, teeth, and skin would be intact. He'd in fact be handsome and in dimmer light might still pass as full human as he was a playboy and layabout before his brother turned on the ghouls of DC (his own words so big bump of salt-infused Jet required).
Feel like this is lore-accurate for a 30-something-year-old hard-living Ghoul.
Happy to provide :D From Irma's terminal entry in the memory den:
Mayor Hancock's memories are... well, let's just say if you thought he was handsome and dangerous now, you should've seen him before he turned ghoul. And I thought I knew how to have a good time...
I would say he is indeed handsome by canon, heh.
The game also takes place in 2287, and the anti ghoul decree Hancock talks about, where he explicitly mentions not being a ghoul at the time, was only 5 years prior, in 2282. So yeah, he's really not that old.
People seem to place him at 40s often, but I'd say it makes more sense for be early to mid 30s, having gone ghoul very shortly after 2282 (I'd say around 4 and a half years sounds fair, judging by the Goodneighbor lore)
Since i noticed Sexy Hancock and this are in two different folders I'm going to try both and see if it works. In theory i should get the improved body and hands of the former and the head of the latter. or a nightmare of texture collisions.
The problem is in-game i haven't been there yet in this playthrough but I'm literally up the street in Bunkerhill so detour from finding the CIT ruins is called for.
Hmm... Complicated, honestly. It's probably going to cause issues. At best you'll get only seams if he uses a different texture set, at worst his head bones explode lmao. IDK how the sexy hancock mod works, I never used it myself, but from my Skyrim knowledge, if he uses a unique body in that mod, then that means there are plugin edits to do so & that might conflict with the edits I made. Your best bet would be to forward the unique body + hands data to this mod's plugin, or just choose between them ahaha.
