i like Havok physics idea, and i would hope to see more drugs that do something special like this .
like imagine day tripper actually does something cool, like you actually trip and it spawns allies in the form of random NPC's to fight along side you while you are high off of the stuff, here is an example, you take a hit from day tripper and suddenly the weather changes and those worm things come out of the ground and help you attack your enemies, but it does diffrent things depending on the mood of the situation, because they could do something completely diffrent when you take them and are not in a fight, like make your dog talk or random animals start talking to you as if they were people NPC's, because your tripping right?
maybe if you take to many of the same drug they can make you black out and randomly wake up in some other place, again something interesting is what i'm thinking.
maybe there are actual withdrawal symptoms that exist instead of just being addicted to the drug, they do some things to you that effect your perception of reality because you need another hit, maybe you need something like mentats so you can focus, because it's a smart drug right?
That’s an awesome idea! I love the thought of making chems feel more unique and actually do something beyond just stat boosts. The Day Tripper hallucination effect with random NPC allies or talking animals would be a wild and fun addition—definitely the kind of thing that could add a lot of personality to the game. The blackout/wake-up-in-a-random-place idea is also super interesting, especially if it tied into addiction mechanics in a more immersive way. Fallout’s withdrawal system is pretty basic, so adding actual perception-altering effects could make addiction feel way more impactful. I’m definitely keeping ideas like this in mind for future updates or mods. Would be cool to see more chems get some love beyond just buff timers. Appreciate the inspiration!
I have always wondered why there weren't mods (or many) that do this. I would love something that would give an extreme burst of damage resistance when in a bind but it's very hard to get. Rare and/or costly. Cool first mod
i have asked this question to these other modders and they often say something about being lore friendly, and that is so boring because everyone does the lore friendly stuff that they eventually all mirror each other's stuff, so their mods just all slightly mirror each others.
look i came from skyrim, i'm used to cool mods that turn things into some amazing s#*!, yes they worry too much about lore as well, however there is also some modders who are willing to bypass that nonsense and make some really cool s#*!, and this is what i look forward to, if they don't offer anything cool, i just tend to skip that mod because it's boring to me.
this mod looks interesting for once, but i do think there needs to be more cool mods for FO4.
sorry, I've been spoiled by skyrim mods for many years, i just want a bunch of cool s#*! to show up in this game as well, lately i have been feeling the FO4 modding scene has gotten a bit stale and i'm thinking of going back to skyrim again because i know they have endless amazing s#*! every week it seems and for a 14 year old game that's insane.
Thanks for the support! I totally get what you mean—it’s surprising there aren’t more mods that do this. I wanted to create something that adds that “last stand” kind of moment without making it feel overpowered or too easy to obtain. Balancing rarity and power is definitely something I’ll keep tweaking as I go. Let me know if you have any ideas on how you'd like to see it implemented!
I hear you! Lore-friendliness is great, but I also think there’s plenty of room for creative, over-the-top fun in FO4 modding. I wanted to make something that stands out a bit from the usual tweaks and fits that power fantasy feeling without being too immersion-breaking. I agree that Skyrim has an insane modding scene with tons of wild ideas, and I’d love to see more of that energy in Fallout 4 as well. Hopefully, this mod is a step in that direction! Appreciate the feedback!
buzzudit now i understand that a lot of it also has to do with the skill set of the modder, i have lots of ideas for all kinds of things, but they aren't always as simple to what i'm asking because some modders may not have the know how into getting my ideas and making them into something that's possible.
some of my ideas are serious and some can be outright goofy, when on the subject of drugs that alter your mind or state of being, it makes sense to make the drugs based on what the drugs do already but also add on that effect, the idea i had for day tripper was taken from a existing weapon used in skyrim called the wabbajack, it pretty much causes random chaos, but the effect i was making an example of would use vanilla assets, so there is no need to create new assets and it's also based on a timer of the drug, it could be made to be over powered or it could be made to be normal powered but just add some helper NPC's that spawn in to help.
now this is totally off the script of drugs, i once wanted to extend Lorenzo's story in some way, but that idea would be much more involved, however he uses a kind of magic, it's explained through that alien artifact he wears, but his attacks are essentially magic, and it's the same thing with that Aswalld ghoul in nuka world, imagine those two go at fighting each other, that would be something insane to see, or maybe a story involving the alien weapon you find in the cave and take it to Cabot house and have Jack inspect it and maybe find another weapon he can create from it or something, or maybe the institute gets wind of you obtaining these artifacts and maybe they want to use them, anything could happen there is no limit, it can still be somewhat lore friendly.
I did this in my game, thanks to the NAC and SlevinChemFx mods. Not to please Lore, but for realism. I tweaked the settings in X-edit a bit and now I don't have Jet, but Meth, instead of Med-X Morphine, PCP instead of Psycho, and so on. Everyone has visual effects that act as much as substances do in the real world. Lol=)
I can definitely look into making an ESL version! I am a first time modder. I’ll need to check compatibility and make sure everything works properly, but if it's doable without issues, I’ll add it in a future update. Thanks for the suggestion!
