My mod uses the vanilla file path for the meshes, whereas Snappable Junk Fences uses a custom file path, so my files won't overwrite. It's best to do a clean save and install mine, but if you really don't want to risk removing a plugin from your save mid-playthrough, just make sure the plugin from my mod loads after the other one. That or you can download the loose files version of mine and manually install the meshes over the other ones.
anybody else using workshop + with this mod and getting jittery camera movement? it's also like my character is trying to jump but gets sucked back down to the ground. Everything else seems to work from workshop + i just can't fly anymore. I only have this issue after downloading this mod. i'm also using workshop framework, faster workshop, workshop highlight fix, and a better world - cabin workshop pack so nothing i'd think would interfere like this. also added this during an existing save.
i figured it out. Turns out I'm a moron and I was wearing a jetpack and that was causing the issue. So apologies and thanks for the help and quick response i'll endorse. Thanks for the mod
Many thanks for this. While I've been happily using SJF for ages, I do at (quite a few) times get annoyed at having to part-bury pieces into the ground to eliminate gaps. A mod that gives me easy-to-use fence pieces that also save me from gaps sounds terrific.
However, I'm trying to work out how I'd upgrade my existing settlements. If I understand arightly, I can't run both SJF and your mod concurrently, and still be able to see the pieces from both sets. So it looks as though I'd have to:
1) Load up my settlement with their current load order, 2) Delete the existing SJF pieces, 3) Save and quit the game 4) Change load order so that your mod replaces SJF 5) Load the game 6) Manually recreate the old junk fence from manually.
Or have I (not for the first time, of course) completely misunderstood things?
EDIT
I posted this on the SJF comments last year:
"FO4Edit advises that Desperadoes adds distant LOD meshes to the Junk Fence workshop pieces.Unfortunately, this overwrites the added snap points added by Snappable Junk Fences." I fear you may find the same interference.
Theoretically, you should be able to simply hotswap the two mods. If all else fails, simply rename my mod from GON_BetterJunkFences.esp to BetterJunkFences.esp (as well as the archive, or simply extract it or use the loose files version on top of it) to avoid the pop-up at the beginning that you're missing an .esp, tho you would have to rebuild any of the spikes you've previously built as they have different FormIDs in my mod.
Regarding Distant LOD, I forgot to mention in the description that I added LOD for the junk fence pieces to the .esp version of my mod, and it seems to work just fine - I've had no issues with the snap points. (Edit: the currently published version of my mod does not, in fact, contain LOD info, I misremembered and was thinking of another version I was working on before I published.) If you do, you could try installing the loose files version over the archive - for some reason that seemed to fix it the one time I had an issue during development of this, but that only happened once, early on, and didn't happen with the version I've now published. I suspect that happened because in the early version I was working with I had simply forgotten to pack the correct mesh files in the archive. Please let me know if you have any issues switching between the two mods.
Edit to add: The snap points are not determined in the plugin, but in the meshes themselves, so unless Desperadoes is replacing the meshes, it shouldn't interfere with my mod, as mine retains the vanilla file structure for the meshes, unlike other similar mods.

Do I need to use the loose file to 'overwrite' the original SJW in a middle of a playthrough?
I know this should, theoretically, be fine to remove midsave but at the same time, I don't want to go into the habit.
EDIT: A quick search on Nexus showed this mod that seems to do what you're asking for.
Edit: I just had a quick look in XEdit and I don't see any obvious incompatibilities, so not sure what's going on for you.
