First things first! I've brought Modcast back with my fellow mod author Kris Takahashi, author of Interesting NPCs and Tales From The Commonwealth. Modcast is a series where we sit down and get to know your favourite mod authors. This week we talk to one of the creators of Beyond Skyrim, who details the trials and tribulations that went into the mod.
Regarding the mod - no updates started yet, but if you have *any* questions, suggestions, bugs or insults come to my discord. That way I can respond to you quicker!
Beware, this mod caused both my arm gear to be constantly overwritten with the shoulder addons via some script being executed everytime I loaded a save. Neither did I currently wear the base armor, nor did I have it in my inventory. It drove me nuts troubleshooting this behavior!
i found a bug where if you try to equip a piece of legendary armor it will retain that armor's buffs, so right now i have like 40 strength and 44 endurance and i don't know how to get rid of it, otherwise it's a decent armor mod i suppose
Trash and broken tf. Not only are the visuals for the "upgrades," ugly asf, but you can't even visually remove them afterwards. The "metal" upgrade on the chest part is stupid-looking as are the "metal" and "raider" shoulder pieces. What's more, is if you try to remove them by undoing the upgrade in the bench, they will visually remain on the armor. Finally, I wasn't even able to remove the armor at all and had to revert to a previous save file.
This mod makes my game CTD frequently. Papyrus shows a lot of entries like this one: stack:[alias RangerEquippedAlias on quest RangerEquipAliasQuest (3D004E12)].RangerEquippedAliasScript.RemoveFromRef() - "<native>" Line ? [RangerUnequipQuest (3D0055B4)].rangerunequipquestscript.OnTimer() - "C:\Users\RETDESKTOP\AppData\Local\Temp\PapyrusTemp\RangerUnequipQuestScript.psc" Line 85 [03/01/2025 - 01:58:07AM] error: alias RangerEquippedAlias on quest RangerEquipAliasQuest (3D004E12): Cannot remove alias data from non-aliased refs for an alias which is not flagged to do so..I've disabled this mod for now, pity because I like the look of the armor. Also, I don't know where "RETDESKTOP" comes from but it's not a valid path on my machine. Maybe the creator wanted to use %user% or something but messed it up? idk.
