First things first! I've brought Modcast back with my fellow mod author Kris Takahashi, author of Interesting NPCs and Tales From The Commonwealth. Modcast is a series where we sit down and get to know your favourite mod authors. This week we talk to one of the creators of Beyond Skyrim, who details the trials and tribulations that went into the mod.
Regarding the mod - no updates started yet, but if you have *any* questions, suggestions, bugs or insults come to my discord. That way I can respond to you quicker!
Having a strange issue though, when I put the armor on, it makes my character waaaay wider. Like man shoulders wider. I could excuse like...a little padding around the body for armor-ness and stuff, but my character is like a foot wider and it looks weird.
Anyone else experience this? I am using CBBE b.t.ways
I'm going to guess this was built original for a male body than scaled down to fit the female vanilla body. depending on your bodyslide data the differences in width could be more/less obvious because equipping it just switches to the female vanilla body.
You would have to find a mod/modder who can/has developed bodyslide files then build the present (that matches yours) in outfit studio.
heres a f4nv redux https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40136
and the associated bodyslide files to form to your body (they can be modified for you in bodyslide later) https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41464
here is a redux redux of the armor above, cannot guarantee the BS will work though https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/68882
If you wanna stick to dogtooths armor https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37178
^that is the bodyslide data for this specific file^
You need to start the Unlikely Valentine quest and get to the point were you have to search Kellogs House with Nick. You can also find a set in the church at the end of the Federal Ration Stockpile dungeon (Or skip the dungeon and head straight to the church)
So will there be any sort of update for this? Many of us would love the option to just not have that stupid fire extinguisher on our backs, it simply ruins the look of the NCR Armour that we all knew and loved from FNV.
Edit - I figured out how to remove the eyesore from the armor, you have to go into FO4Edit and manually remove it from the armor addon itself. You need to remove a few things; from the Biped Body Template flags just delete all of it, and from the attached parent slots remove boots, gloves, and the weapon keywords, none of those needed to be there in the first place. Rangergearnew.esp is what all the edits are going to be under just in case you were wondering.
wow, but who had the brilliant idea of putting a red fire extinguisher on the back of the clothes in the best metal upgrade you have in your armor? But what a ridiculous idea for the love of God, is there any way to upgrade without having that ridiculous red barrel on your back?
So I've been annoyed by this as well, currently I'm attempting some tweaks to either remove this eyesore or to just make it as small as possible, but no such luck as of yet. NCR Veteran Ranger - F4NV may be the best best for now since this mod has been apparently abandoned. Also converting either armor set for CBBE is super simple if needed, can easily be done on your own.
Edit - See my most recent post on this thread, I finally figured out the dam eyesore
I don't know if its a Mandela Effect or something, but I profoundly remember the Riot Gear (more specifically the Elite ver.) having knee-pads in some of the user-shared pictures yet once I managed to fully upgrade my Riot Gear, all my PC has are plain boots!
