doesnt this break the economy once you realize you can just buy junk items and then break them down and resell their components for 10x what you spent on the junk to get them?
I personally thinking things more expensive would make sense to use with a mod that makes thing a lot less common. In the way the game is setup by Bethesda, stuff is waaay too easy to get, there is junk, weapons and pre-war food Everywhere. It always bothered me how just much pre-war food had been sitting on shelves for over 200 years and people were supposed to be starving...
IMO, based on immersion and not game play / balance...
Gold - 1200
Silver - 400 - Silver and Gold are not more or less common but require mining. OK.
Nuclear Mat - 100 - Nuclear Material should be rare, but the wasteland seems to breed things which drop this a lot.
Oil - 190 - It would be great to separate cooking and petroleum- based oils. The latter would be near non-existant. However, suitable lubricants can be created with many things.
Cooper - 50 - It's in everything and it does not rust. Granted, it's not common on earth and needs to be mind, but it lasts forever.
Fiber Optic - 300 - It requires advanced machinery to make.
Ballistic Fiber - 200. - whatever. The real issue is... where does it come from? If Deathclaws... that would be cool.
Aluminum - 100 - common in rubble / scrap and also very common on the Earth.
Lead - 80 - Very common in the earth and should be very common in rubble / scrap.
Circuitry - 200 - Uses advanced manufacturing techniques to make.
Fiber Glass - 25 - This is plastic mixed with glass. Glass comes from silicon which is one of the most common elements on the planet. Plastic can be made from any organic material.
Adhesive - 10 - This is a strange bottleneck in FO4. People have been making adhesives out of things for thousands of years.
Antiseptic - 30 - As a catagory it's less immersive than circuitry, but some form of this is easier to manufacturer than, say, nuclear material or Fiber Optics.
