This is nice and all, but I'm kind of disappointed by how it's presented. The console itself is not even real, it's just a prop. I'd hope you could place it next to your tv on your settlement and play your holotape games on it like you could watch videos with the "Videos of the Wasteland mod"
Same process, but I use a 25x25 grid for the textures and instead of playing one sound file from the beginning, I cut the audio into 25 second clips and play each with the corresponding animation sequence. Using a single sound file leads to de-synced audio after a minute or so. Also, I edit the source video so that it fits the screen mesh. It's not as simple a process as with VotW, not if you want it to work like the ones I made. If the source video is not edited to match the screen size, there will be all sorts of stretching and distortion of the image.
Also, if you're not able to edit the nif to change animation length and sound prompts, the source video needs to be 150 seconds or 3750 frames in length. If you're able to edit the nif, then it can be shorter, or a bit longer. The nif has an extra animation sequence that allows for an additional 25 seconds of footage.
I'll make a short tutorial and add it to download page.
How about maybe a patch or a VotW version that will work with standard VotW holotapes? TheDestroyerOfWorlds created and posted an excellent utility that can automatically convert videos into a complete mod with plugin and assets compatible with VotW.
I really loved seeing my settlers go right over and start playing. :)
Just a quick note: I went to place the console blaster on a standard side table and it fell through. Physics are wonky and it would only rest upright on the ground. Everywhere else, it spun or fell sideways to the floor. If I placed upright on the table, it just placed upright on the floor.
Other than that, it is - as always - awesome work and thank you!
Dude - you're killing me with the awesome content. I have to figure out how to get this into the load order now - and I"m maxed out. <3
/Also - 63, mod how you want. Stuff like this has been inspiring me to tackle modding.
//I let the upgrade go through. I'm running about 450 mods now and they're all fine. I've got old and new Chuck mods in this load order (yes, did that mid-game install of the Diner and I'm still working through fixing the menu, but I've got it all now. ;) ) If you don't let it go through you're eventually going to be dead in the water. Better now than later.
If anyone is willing to give step by step instructions on how to downgrade the esp via Xedit I will try. However many of us 'older gamers' did not have computer classes in school, we suffer PTSD from that dial up internet sound. We have to take classes just to learn how to use new windows office updates.. In point telling us to figure it out ourselves..is the same as us telling you this vehicle has a steering clutch figure it out yourself without causing damage. Guidance is appreciated and welcomed. Give a Man a mod, and You mod Him for a Day. Help a Man How To mod, and You mod Him for a Lifetime...
The "old gamer" argument doesn't do much for me. I'm 58. I never went to school for any of this. Taught myself how to do it. The only computer class I ever had used the Apple II. I work in construction.
That being said, I probably jumped the gun on updating my game and my mods to follow suit. Didn't realize just how much drama it would cause. Also, I never took the time to research whether or not old gen mods, like the stuff I make, would work with the update. That's my fault.
I'll see what I can do to accommodate the never updaters in the future.
your mods are great and make the game better. Mod how you want, you will still have your fans support. Modding must be fun for both the modder and user. Besides settlers still have your dance-ola to use. off-note I personally would enjoy the how to advice. Watched every video I could about Xedit and with gamerpoets. thankyou hibashehadeh https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/82114 change the Ba2 files then launch fo4 edit and select your mods are great and make the game better. in fo4edit, I edit the version from 1.10,000 (or whatever it is) to 1.0000 and that's all that needs to be edited in the esp? I have experience working at xedit. What about ba2? I can unzip them using BAE and turn them into loose files, will it work? I am grateful in advance
there is a way to do it, downdrade a mod by this https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/82114 downgrade the ba2s then by fallout 4 edit u can edit the esps version
I'm like you bro, my game was upgraded by Steam without my consent, and when I realised that many essential mods were no longer functional and the authors didn't care to update them anymore I downgraded back to old version and I'm very happy like that.
If the price is to miss out on few good mods like this one then be it, you win some, you lose some but I'm not gonna start messing around with FO4edit as I wouldn't even know where to start.
Either way, excellent looking mod, respect to the author for sharing.
^This guy. Listen to him, he's you're homie. I literally have over 1,000 mods im sure, and Im sorry I just cant sacrifice them all just for one or two mods. That's just unreasonable. Let's face it, the next gen update isn't good. And it's just not worth it. It's asking a lot from mod authors to constantly update all their mods for the ones who cant be happy with the fallout version they have.
But it's easy to simply make a downgraded version from the pool that already exists. In fact both versions can be made. I just can't take that chance, it took me half a decade to get my gane this good modwise
Honestly, you're all a bunch of whiny babies. Take 20 minutes and learn how to do it yourselves. I enjoy making these mods, but dealing with this kind of thing is why I often consider finding a new hobby.
hibashehadeh, good for you, you've taken responsibility for your own gaming experience. Something the rest of you should learn from by example. However, the reason I'm not sharing whatever it is you've created is because that's not my responsibility. I've done my part already.

Also PS it does work with Old-Gen as long as you have Backported BA2 Archive System mod
