I actually removed the legendary effects from these guns cuz I hate legendary items and effects. This was created as part of a major realistic overhaul im still currently making. Eventually I will make a more vanilla version of this mod to just add the customization and caliber stuff but I probably wont ever do anything with the legendary stuff sorry.
That mod is on my list to get added to my overhaul in the future. currently migrating all my work stuff to a new pc so it might be a little while before a new update gets posted but its coming.
Great mod, exactly what i was looking for, thanks for giving us to change the colour of the receiver. i like what you done with the fire rate, i didn't like that i had to keep the basic receiver in order to keep my fire rate at 90 and your mod fixed that. really great mod definitely the best service rifle overhaul. No issues so far
Thanks glad you like it. Eventually i am going to make a version without as much drastic changes to make it fit in with vanilla for people that don't want to go hard core realism with the gun mechanics but want the customization stuff. but that will probably be a minuet till it gets worked on.
This mod when enabled disables the original service rifle it seems. I check in game and the content from this mod is there but not the actual service rifle, did I do something wrong here that im not aware of?
is this on a new save? there could be issues if installed on a save with the original mod first. my mod guts the original mod and makes a lot of changes. It also disables the script injection for use with my big Level list mod. If on a new save I may have to look into whats up . might be a LO specific issue id need to make everyone aware of.
edit. after a few minuets of thinking, yeah thats probably normal even on a new save. since theres no injection (actually I think there is suppose to be. might be broken) the rifle may not appear normally. you can spawn it in manually or use a service rifle replacer probably.
Ahhh just needs a way to inject, right now I am using a mod that gives extra attachments to the vanilla guns in game. Is there a way around using that? Also I can't seem to find the service rifle in the command menu when searching for it either.

there would have to be a custom patch for those extra attachments im pretty sure. once my main level list overhaul is finished i want to add support for several things and attachment packs will be one of them. also, to make it easy for you to get a service rifle try out this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56922 I use this for all my testing and game set up needs. makes it super easy to get items from any mod.
So it turns out that nothing was wrong I just didnt realize tht it renames the guns and I gotta say I feel like a silly b&@*$ for that one. Also after trying out the mod I gotta say f*#@ing awesome mod. Also the mod you suggested I couldnt be happier to use that explorer. Jolly good show my guy
lol yeah sorry I did give the guns a more realistic name. Glad you got it working and enjoy it tho! theres no further update to this mod yet but all future updates will be posted under the main mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/90121 right now they are all in an AIO zip folder but you can delete the ones you dont want if you dont want to use the Level list patch.
this is the best overhaul i have managed to find on nexux! i also have found a few issues associated with the load order of mine
i play with true damage and my incoming damage slider is made so any damage kills me and the problem here is bad firerate in the semi receivers make it so they all are at least 90 firerate this will make them more realisctic! cuz you know any semi auto gun is able to shoot as fast as it is automatic sisters.
the second thingy is the lack of loot i use mods that delete loot from wastelands and aquiring cutting fluid is pretty hard for me this is not the ussue just something i wanna inform you off and maybe you will decrease the amout of cutting fluid needed for modifications
hey maybe .308 and 12.7 receivers also should be added just for funsies of having 20 round mags.

Thanks for the info and suggestions! I will note down the fire rate thing for sure. And also I may add a crafting recipe for cutting fluid to make it easier to acquire. I figured it made more sense to use that rather than adhesive when your working on a milling machine and fabricating metal parts lol. and i'm pretty sure I could figure out how to add a few more ammo types. I need to tweak the first 5 overhauls I've done to fix a few things I've found during my testing playthrough so ill probably make these changes pretty soon.

feedback on update: 308 in the ak mag? okay sure not bad i imagined it a bit different (just forcing player into small mag with stock looking lower) not a real ar10 but in fallout 4 this would work! same can be spotted on wasteland melody service rifle. the firerate on stock receiver just bad in every way i like how hair trigger works tho! maybe you can make normal like hair trigger and hair like an automatic? dont be afraid to make it shoot unsanely fast it is a late game rifle after all so the stronger it is the better. i always wanted a hippy skin apply on all parts so if possible i would love it!

I didn't even realize the Ak 7.62 uses a completely different looking receiver until after I had finished lol. I copied the 7.62 lower receivers for the .308 since they have similar stats so I didn't have to do as much work on the properties but I think id rather have the other style lower so ill probably re do that or just make both an option with some kind of benefit or trade off. and yeah the firing rates are still not good. I'm going to try giving the standard receiver the same speed as the auto just not the auto firing ability and see if that actually makes it work. for some reason I'm having issues getting the speed numbers to change as much as i want them too and it takes a while for me to load into game for testing but next patch will focus on fixing this. thanks again for the great feedback and suggestions. Its raining hard in my area so ill be inside modding for a while. might release another version later today if I can fix the speed issues
Edit, figured out what the problem was by asking chat gpt of all things lol. now the standard trigger isnt so slow and the hair trigger can fire as fast as you can hit the trigger
sick! im gona check it rn real quick! yeah same for me i was using fo4edit to make shotgun work realistically but i had to close and load the game every time i was painfully long. maybe some edit to make acog sight faster aiming now? cuz for me it is either ironsights or acog with this gun. the holo sight is a little unaccurate so i avoid it! there is huge potential for this mod so im exited to see more edits for it! oh btw on what level they start to appear? 30? 40? 50? i was able to get one only on my testing character who is level 50.

I'm planning on going over all the sights all at once when I get time as far as the levels go I'm using the injection scripts it already had just modified to remove the stuff thats missing so I'm not real sure. I'm am currently testing the actual Level list patch for the first 5 guns that will add them to the list how I intend so they should start showing up in light calibers around level 15 and will appear in increments from there. The LL patch will also have the crafting recipes for Cutting Fluid to make it easier to get as well as make it available from the gun and junk vendors
I've thought about making the ammo conversions and sights "Kits" you have to buy instead of craft but I'm not sure if I wanna commit to that much work but I'm thinking about it. I've always felt like the ability to buy mods was largely overlooked in vanilla or atleast I never notice anything I'd use for sale. I usually end up with loads of caps in late game so it be cool to have a use for them. There may also be a business opportunity with the way I'm doing this. If guns have worn and pristine skins im making the worn skins the only ones that spawn and the pristine skins only take cleaning supplies to make ( abraxo cleaner and a cloth or oil and acid) and that will increase the value to the point where you could buy those guns or find them and "fix" them before selling for a profit. Probably not a big thing but it would be possible to make more caps in low levels that way
i would suggest not going too realistic craftable lowers are nice and gameplay efficient. i understand the idea behind it all and how it may affect immerstion but player comfort is a thing you should always consider.
i dont know if it is something you will agree on but can you make a legendary version of it appear on trader near fairlane hills? would be cool to have unscrappable version with some weak but good legendary effrect like 50% more damage to ghouls. unrealistic? maybe. but some unique version should be there. this may also be a good way to get this rifle early on in the game.
once the entire overhaul is in version 1 I want to add some unique variants for sure as well as replace the vanilla uniques the vendors sell but having issues with getting them to work right without vanilla unique framework and im really trying to not add too many requirements but if I can make it work standalone it will for sure be coming. I also want to add a new gun vendor somewhere in world probably voiced by me to sell a variety of guns and possibly have some sort of bounty system. Might make a quest with some unique guns as a reward to help with getting a hold of some of them earlier than they spawn.

Seeing as this mod already makes use of Munitions for the 9mm and .223 receivers wouldn't it also make sense to change the ".40" 10mm receiver to use actual .40 ammo and the .50 receiver to 12.7mm?
im trying to not add too many additional ammo. I'm probably going to rename the vanilla ammos since 1omm doesnt really exist and .50 is too general but those changes will be made with the main Level List overhaul. Im using 10mm as .40 so there will not be issues in vault 111 with the 10mm pistol replacements.
no problem. id like to also make some new one handed 3rd person animations for pistols and revolvers that can be swapped out at the workbench. I'm one of those people that play 3rd person most of the time so the lack of custom 3rd person animations on the nexus is sad
