I use "More armor slots" so I can layer individual pieces on top of outfits, wouldn't that also solve this problem?

If it adds leg armor slots to the Athletic Outfit, then yes, it'll work. Based on the screen shots, though, that mod introduces a lot of clipping since most clothing models weren't designed to accommodate armor pieces. But if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, then there's no reason to avoid it, especially since there's no realistic or logical reason for many outfits to forbid armor.

Thanks for the response!  Yeah, the more armor slots mod can introduce clipping.. but if you've ever played this game vanilla (god help you) then there are plenty of instances of Bethesda's own armor clipping, especially with the spiked/caged armor sets.  So while it bothers me, it's not like it's any of the mod's fault.  I've been working on making mods for FO4 for a concerningly long time, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that war never changes you're gonna have to learn to make concessions sometimes :P

      Take care, pal.

Hope this makes it to gunners too. Seen too many of them "going commando" so to speak

I use the UFO4P, so I don't see these things, but a recent Reddit post reminded me about the caravan outfit "bug" and my own remedy that I kept forgetting to implement. If the issue exists for the Gunners, too, it is likely for the same sort of reason--i.e., an armor piece getting applied over an outfit that doesn't support the armor piece. I'll take a look at the Gunners and see what I find.

Did a bit of digging, and as expected, the Gunner Guard Outfit doesn't support leg armor, but is included in some Gunner leveled lists that allow it to spawn with leg armor. That's likely the root of your naked Gunner enemies. UFO4P does fix this by opening the outfit's leg armor slots, but I'm assuming you don't use the UFO4P, so I'll post a "Bug Fix" for it in a day or two.

I found this mod that also opens the leg slots for the Athletic and Gunner Outfits: Athletic Outfit and Gunner Guard Outfit now have Leg Slots.
I am not using it, since I also use the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch. But maybe it will help you.

Good find. I won't need to make a fix for the gunner guard outfit with that mod around. It makes this "Bug Fix" unnecessary, too, unless you prefer caravan guards wearing road leathers over athletic outfits.

If you're still looking, I posted Bug Fix - Gunner Guard Outfit a bit ago.

I bet a million caps Bethesda didn't fix this bug in the next-gen version.

The unofficial patch disables the [A] slot for LegR and LegL for the ARMA record AA_DCGuard_UnderArmor [ARMA:000AF0E3] but forget to disable it for the ARMO record Armor_DeaconDCGuard_UnderArmor "Athletic Outfit" [ARMO:0023767E]. In fact the leveled list change is obsolete once the ARMO is patched properly. This might be an oversight in UFO4P.

I thought about removing the armor slot references for the Athletic Outfit, but I prefer the Road Leathers for this roll regardless, so I went that route instead.
