This grass looks fantastic and TALL, but surely such undertaking would eat up FPS ? id like someone to give an indication whats the performance like ....thanks
When I made this mod, I had a build: Ryzen 5 RTX 1060 6GB 16GB RAM DDR4 SSD I had no framerate issues. In fact, I had no issues with 2K graphics at all. The only time I noticed FPS issues was with a lot of fire sources that also cast shadows.
Thank you, and yes you are correct i have not noticed any fps drops AS LONG AS its kept at your recommendations which is 40 for grass , at 20 it does become real bad though.
As far as I know, you have to open the "Grass" section in xEdit, on the right you will see the Height Range setting - you need to change that. The higher the number, the bigger the grass. You can use my plugin as a model. I don't know how it will play out in a game with really big numbers.
Thank you for being so forthcoming and helpful, its a rare commodity with modders these day, i suppose its partly because of people not appreciating the free work you guys provide. Let me at the least reward you with a KUDOS.
Thanks again
PS: Not a request just a thought, perhaps at some time in the future you can come up with a real tall grass, jungle like in Crysis 3 for shits and giggles, could be a major hit as nobody else has done it , and don't worry about "visibility" most people use mods like heat vision and so forth....like i said nobody done it before ....thanks again
Thanx fo the cudos. I personally try to behave on Nexus as I would expect from others, I still remember very well when I asked for advice and got nothing . I don't want to do that Maybe I'll do the grass one day, I haven't even thought about something like that yet. But I have so many things to do that I don't know when I'll do it. As I said, you can try it yourself, it's a matter of a few minutes. But I don't know how it will look. The optimal solution would be to redo the grass meshes along with the textures. The disadvantage of such grass is that you can't see anything, but the NPCs can see everything.
I hope you mean just some game, not a real war. I'm also preparing a green version, but I had problems with it because Bethesda screwed up one mesh and I thought for a week that I messed something up.
Definitely. I tried it with tree mods and had a heart attack a few times. I tested green grass and green bushes yesterday and it's even worse . I'll probably make vanilla leafy trees too, I didn't want to, but I probably will. I just love the vanilla look.
I've tried it with tree mods and I have to say it's ultra hardcore stuff. You just have to pay attention to compatibility, some mods also modify grass. The advantage of this mod is also that the grass does not grow on concrete or where it should not grow, so at least what I checked, that was the case. If you install BNS or A Forest, get ready to get lost
