    Sticky
Sadly I can't use it. I am guessing it was written for Next Gen updated game as I get the same error message every time I try to load a mod made for such: "Invalid Archive... may cause game to crash."
Wld have been nice but apparently out of my reach as I refuse to "update" my game files.

Beautiful work, though! Only wish there wasn't this rift twixt game versions, Thanks Todd! ... I guess doing this to Skyrim was so fun he had to double down

Have you tried using the Backported Archive2 Support System? Backported Archive2 Support System at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

Some report issues with Backported Archive2 Support System. Another one is BA2 Archive Version Patcher. But I've not tried either.

BA2 Archive Version Patcher works really well. It only changes 1 byte in the header of archives that specify version, so that pre-NG Fallout 4 can read it. As far as I know, noone has been able to identify any actual changes to the format.

So this seems to be a classic dick move from the early days, often pulled off by more tech-savvy people in marketing to drive sales.

I'm beyond ecstatic to have this mod in my game! I was born in 1968, and I definitely remember the wood paneling and the color scheme that was left over from the 60s that blended with the 70s look. Serious kudos!

I absolutely adore this aesthetic for the institute. I really wish I had the free time to learn modding, because it would be incredible to have some kind of replacer for institute clothing that fits this same look and feel. I'm thinking something akin to a mad-scientist disco look XD

  5. Love the look this mod gives the Institute. I feel like Bethesda really messed up the retro futuristic vibe they were supposed to give Fallout 4, making it too retro in some places and too futuristic in others (such as the Institute without this mod). Great work.

I'm really enjoying this aesthetic a lot more for the Institute than the one they ended up with in game. All the Institute needs now is some equally fitting retro (or just more stereotypical) scientist attire and vibe will all come together!

the option to install with vortex isn't showing up for me. Is that normal? (sorry for the stupid question)

Been using this for awhile now and I think I've finally grown to feel this suits the institute far better than the sterile white they're known for. This will remain, by far, my favorite Institute mod ever!

There's an unintended side effect of this mod : changing the SOE pack logo 😅

Well, good though, it also solved the problem of stupidly bright institute when using ENB.
