Intetesting.  Big fan of Dresden Files, and the show ain't bad.  Been working on setting up a Mage playthrough, and I think this is just what I need to get it rolling.  There's precious few magic/Force/psi mods available.

    A few pros and cons:
    Pro - magic!
       Works in PA.
       Excellent visuals.
Very easily accessible.  No wierdass quests that run the breadth of the Commonwealth, just a couple perk points that you would have spent anyway.
Decent clothes.  Not a big fan of outfits per sey; I prefer to build my own mashups one piece at a time.  But these look good.  Particularly the hat.

Con - weird 3rd person idle spell animations.  Rather the staff just go away, like the blasting rod does.  But might be CHW trying to do it's thing.
Some of this stuff kills you dead at close range.  Fire discipline and situational awareness keep you alive.  Kinda like RL, come to think of it.
Everything is AoE.  No point-target options here.  Suppose that's why a pistol and a melee staff are included.

As usual, Blueboar does not disappoint.  Magic in Fo4 is cool and hard to come by, and this is pretty much a one-stop shop.  Tracked and endorsed.

I've just posted a new Dresden Files adventure:  The Atlantic Mystery
    https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/88436/
What was the mysterious signal from Spectacle Island?  Why did all communication and trade from the island end?
Has Spectacle Island become a prison - or a lair?

One option for Mouse would be to use a Dogmeat replacer.  Here are a few that might be possible:

I've posted an updated version of Dresden Files, which includes equipment and spells useful for late-game play.
I'm also working on an Atlantic Demonreach posting.  That involves learning new FO4 modding skills, so it won't be quick; but it's coming.

the tv show was kind of weird and hard to get into, but i do like the idea of the mod depending on how well it's implemented.

i like the idea of adding supernatural elements in this game.

at one point i thought it would have been cool to make a mod that was like the tv show of supernatural, where the player uses tactics from the show in using salt circles and branding tattoo wards on themselves to ward off evil spirits or demons and stuff like that, and possibly using learned inscriptions via some ancient ritual arts, and also taking advantage of the shows bestiary where the player uses specific tactics and weapons against their foes, like using unique silver bullets to salt infused bullets to combat the various enemies that he comes across as every foe is weak to something where some weapons would be ineffective against the enemy where other weapons that are used specifically against them.

the player also has the ability to set traps for demons on the floor or ceiling to get trapped in and they can read a inscription from a book they hold to either banish bad demons that have attached themselves into a body of the innocent instead of killing the person they can be rid of the evil that took hold of them.

i'm not modder, so to come up with stuff like this isn't my strong suite, but i think the existing mechanics of this game can make something like this possible, the traps on the ground could easily be reskinned mines fashioned to look like they are these symbols that the show used, example https://imgs.search.brave.com/mXE9majLpK070HuA42FlnQOeukRth0OzdEt4xTGO76I/rs:fit:860:0:0:0/g:ce/aHR0cHM6Ly9pLnNz/dGF0aWMubmV0L0Uz/U1JwLmpwZw that have specific effects on an NPC to make them respond differently, like giving them the bleed out animation keeping them in place on the ground as the player recites the words to make the evil demon leave their body, and that effect could be a misty black effect underneath the body and suddenly go away as the NPC stands back up and is released of the demon.

something like that i could see. anyway i will stop rambling.

"Dresden Files" draws on the books (especially the first four).  I haven't seen the TV show.  Kainschilde209's comment about Spectacle Island gives me ideas.  Many Dresden-related spells wouldn't work with this game engine, but the biggest problem with demon-traps is I'd need to add demons, and having them turn up randomly doesn't seem right.  I'd need quests, and magical opponents, and that starts turning FO4 into a very different game.  Spectacle Island, however, is a different context, and many of it's features already sound like Demonreach.
More thoughts in my response to Kainschilde209.

yeah, it's likely more of a skyrim kind of thing, that game just offers more in what is possible, and that game already comes with a spell that looks kind of like what i'm describing with the rune spells, these can be placed on the ground with the rune of the spell visible to see, and they react just like mines based on proximity to the mine, but these can have all kinds of effects, even down right teleportation spells.

if something like that were to exist in this game, it would have to be within this games built-in mechanics, so nothing would really involve magic per say, but would be in a form of technology with some fantastical effects on NPC's that this game doesn't offer on hand.

anyway i have no idea about the books, i never heard of this name through the books, it was the tv series that caught my eye and even then, i never finished the show, but it was interesting none the less, it reminded me of an old episode of the sliders back in the day.

I'm an old coot for whom "the book was better" always resonates.  I especially liked the first four in the series; if you enjoy reading, you might try "Storm Front" and see what you think.

it might be weird to admit this, but i don't really read for enjoyment, unless it's my own fanfictions while i write them, i have read some stuff for enjoyment but it's hard for me to read other people's stuff because they might have a weird writing style and it could come off as hard to read and visualize, it has to be something i know on the visual side first for me to visualize anything with that story.

if it comes from a show or a movie i already know about, it's easier to visualize what's going on in the story than attempting on understanding what i'm reading from a perspective unknown to me, like i know your imagination is supposed to sort of fill in the gaps while reading, but it just works better if i already have the writers idea of that world on the visuals, not saying every page the book exists as needs art to give that visualization, but it helps to have some understanding of the vision to the reader.

the first book i ever read cover to cover was likely the most boring book i ever read, the "BIBLE" it was not only hard to read but it was hard visualize what was going on and what was being talked about because i have no reference of the vision, funny enough it was easier to visualize through audio, but that can often get just as boring and cause sleep to take place.

the only time i don't have issues is when i write my own stuff.

I get your point.  There's no "one size fits all" communication medium.  I'm visually oriented, and do better with pictures and written words

If you aren't opposed to audiobooks, James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) does the narration and is damned good at it, sounds more like an old radio play than someone just reading a book. I hated audiobooks until I listened to the Dresden Files ones, and then I got hooked. Gets me through night shifts :D

wow, i had no idea he did narration projects, i just thought he was a low grade actor dude lol, i liked him as spike in buffy, even when the series turned out to be more goofy in the end than it's serious upbringing of the show.

he went from bad vampire dude to good guy but a bit goofy as the result.

Since it does not require F4SE is it compatible with both .163 and .984 game versions?

It should be compatible with both versions -- please let me know if you find conflicts.  There is one basic problem; .ba2 archives created under the recent revision, using Archive2, may not show up in-game.  To compensate for that I've added an optional mod containing the loose file elements packed into the .ba2 files.  In my Buckaroo Banzai mod it seems that adding the loose files gets around the problem.

I just realized that the loose files version doesn't include the .esp file.  (I originally tried it for a player who'd installed the main version of Buckaroo Banzai and found it didn't work.)  For the moment, you'll need to install the main version first, then the loose files.  I'll try to work on a more complete version tomorrow.

Instead of deleting references, it's best to mark as Initially Disabled and set the enable state to opposite of Player.
The Deleted flag is a bit problematic in Bethesda games.

Running xEdit/FO4Edit's Quick Auto Clean will automatically undelete and properly disable things.

That's an interesting idea.  I wouldn't want to (or be able to) duplicate the whole Demonreach narrative from the Dresden book, but the idea of a similar ley-line focus in the Atlantic seems possible.  The island already has a failed settlement, and plenty of monsters, many of them summoned by an unexplained piece of equipment.
It would be easy to re-cast mirelurks as lesser demons -- presumably, nobody not a wizard would be able to tell.  Naagloshii would be easy enough to add.  With that start, I could add adventures setting up a new narrative.
I like the idea.  This sounds like a big mod, and won't happen quickly.  But I'm interested.

There already is a pretty heavy supernatural element to the game. What with Ug-Qualtoth, the mystery of the Dunwich family, all the weird stuff in 76 which has been declared cannon, and a few other things. Harry just needs an office and a client asking him to investigate.

Not sure if or when I will get to this mod for my normal game plat, but I gotta say... the Dresden Files books are amazing! So this is exciting to me! Tracking for now... I need to see how big the impact is on Home Plate, but as soon as I have time I will give it a download and test.

The only changes I've made to Home Plate are in the wood-floored south end, and they're all visible in the screen shots.  The only things I removed were a couple power connectors and light bulbs (Dresden and electricity don't go together well), and you can easily add those back if you wish.  Beyond that, I've added a workbench, the shelves above it, a fireplace, and a cat.  In my own play-through I've added things like a desk, more lanterns, and some seating, but other than the workbench and fireplace the whole Home Plate is unchanged (and uncleared), ready for you to arrange it as you wish.
