I downloaded the "A Wiser Dogmeat" version of this mod and I've had a few issues with it. I attempted to change the name in the esp file which is probably the wrong way to do it but I get stuck with my game loading forever. I also tried to uninstall the game as I don't want personally want Dogmeat to be called Yoda but that also gets stuck. The only way for me to manage to play is to leave it installed with his name as Yoda. Is there anything I can do to fix this
I started a new playthrough and now he is just named "dog". I even tried making a new esp but its still the same. Any idea why that may have happened? Was working fine before.
Something might have skipped the flag to alter Dogmeat's name. He starts out as Dog, but a later event alters the name to Dogmeat. I think its Mama Murphy or Surge referring to him as Dogmeat. Either way if the event flag is skipped the name never changes. So in your case it might be a better idea to alter Dog's actor name (the one he told you in the video not to bother with) after all, since that's what your stuck with.
when you start a new game you have to go talk with the old druggy lady that's with the minutemen. This changes the name from Dog to Dogmeat (or what ever you have changed it to if you are using this mod) however Dogmeat is still refereed to as Dogmeat by everyone.
Thanks a ton for making this mod! I can't figure out how to rename it in the file. When I change the text in the file from Yoda to my dog's name and load the mod the game will not load past the opening screen. Any suggestions?
