I have uploaded a new version, which is exactly the same as 1.0 but recompiled with the CK. Should be a bit safer. If you had no problems with 1.0, I see no reason to upgrade.
Version 1.0 was done without CK back in 2016, so editing quests was a hit or miss with the early version of fo4edit. Additionally, the script was compiled with an early version of Caprica. I did finish the game with my mod installed, both pre and post Blind Betrayal, but that was almost 3 years ago, installed mods were different, game version was different.
If Danse doesn't exit the Power Armor, there's probably a conflict with another mod that edits the COMDanseTalk Quest. It's immersion breaking but you can always use console commands:
If Danse loses his frame when you travel away, I doubt it's because of this mod. I've had companions randomly exit power armor to play some random Idle a lot lately, even inside dungeons.
I set the T-60 version of Danse's power armor as Playable because v1.0 had it, but not the X-01. Once he's in X01 It's probably better to just give him a proper one.
*DO NOT* Steal Danse's Power Armor inside the Prydwen. Unless you want to be amused for an hour or so. (It did not end well for the Brotherhood).
Works really, really well -- I'm suspicious and wary, but enormously pleased.
The only problem I've come across is this: Asking him to exit his power armor inside a settlement causes the entire settlement to register an enemy nearby, but they can't find the enemy. This results in a constant loop of everyone activating sirens and running around with their weapons drawn. To remedy this, I have him exit his power armor well away from settlements. Specifically, I went to Vault 111 and got him out of the suit there; I planned to never let him inside a suit again, so there it will sit.
Other than that workaroundable issue, I've found no problems with this mod. Many thanks for making it -- I can finally be on eye-level with Danse! :D
It's an issue with Bethesda only allowing 4 dialogue options. I'm sure there are more creative ways of getting around that but, unless the mod author comes back to update the mod, you'll just have to make do with asking him to leave his power armor in order to ask about your relationship.
The mod works great, but has a small flaw. Danse likes to randomly exit his power armor and acts like regular NPC (sitting at the table, reading the newspaper, sitting on the bench). It happens often on the Prydwen (I have finished game with BOS ending and I installed mod HE'S WITH ME - No Brotherhood Hostility for Danse)
Danse without power armor usually moves away from me when his "free will" turn on and he's doing these activities. I have to move away from him so he will follow me. Regardless of the "exit power armor" dialogue option or when he does it himself, he behaves like an NPC, but I can still talk to him and tell him to enter power armor. Well, at least Danse can be a free synth and have free will after all. When he exits his power armor, his eyes move to the side and sometimes he looks back at me. Well, does that mean he took "as Victoriam" too seriously? lol
This mod works like a charm, except for a small detail I've noticed - whenever I order Danse out of his power armor and engage in dialogue, he won't look at my character. His eyes are always off to the side. It doesn't happen when he is in his power armor, or when he's out of his power armor during Blind Betrayal. Anyone else with the same problem?
Ive had that happen with me with pretty much every follower (mainly Cait and Piper) that i order into power armor and then out of it. The solution for me was to simply fast travel with them out of power armor and that seemed to fix the issue in my case, hopefully it will for you as well :)
I'm having the same issue. The mod is great but, it is a bit distracting lol. Like others have said, fast travelling seems to work to fix this. None of my other companions use PA so I have never noticed this in others. Also, I am not able to ask about our "relationship" anymore while he is in his PA. I wonder if that's also something that happens with other companions when they are in their PA.
I'm having an issue of him getting out whenever he's not following if he's in 'settler' status in a settlement. Any ideas would be appreciated to whoever sees this.
I have been having a lot of trouble with Danse randomly getting out of his power armor. I've never seen other companion NPC's do this so I'm guessing it is a line of code that was added to other NPC's that Danse didn't get since the devs didn't want him to ever get out of his armor but it is frequently problematic. Does anyone know where/what the record is and can it simply be copied and pasted into a merge patch using FO4edit? I ask because I quite like being able to tell Danse to get in and out of his armor but having him randomly leave his armor to engage in an idle animation in the middle of a dungeon... especially if I don't notice... can be very, uhm, distressing.
Did you ever figure it out, by any chance? I've been having the same issue with an unmodded Cait exiting her power armor in dungeons so she can go stand at terminals and start typing away!
I even momentarily lost one of my power armors that way because I commanded her back into the PA, immediately exited the dungeon, and then fast-travelled away. I had to use the console to find out where it'd gone and realised that she'd somehow exited the PA again in the one second it took me to turn around and activate the dungeon exit, lol!
I have a big problem. Something makes my Danse unhittable like a ghost (I use multiple companions, but the other companions are normal, even companions I took under me after him) and I cant find out what is doing this. So is there some way, maybe some command, to fix this? Btw even command "kill" doesn't work on him and that is so strange. So anybody got some idea? This is a big problem because I need to hit him to claim him for the Institute. If you get "GetGhost >> 1.00" he is a ghost.
If you get "GetGhost >> 0.00" he isn't.
If he is, you can remove the ghost effect with "0005DE4D.setghost 0"
