    1. This bat file is NOT a "player.setlevel" (this bat file contains NO SET commands). Be careful using SET commands. This Steam discussion here talks about why you should tread lightly using ANYTHING SET.
    2. This bat file awards the player with a lot of XP acting like a "natural" level up. It was initally made for me and I decided to share it. The idea was to very quickly and safely level up with mininal worries of breaking the game.
    3. The animations COULD go for a bit after you use it. If that is something that might bother you, use the bat file, save your game, quit to desktop, restart your game. The animations SHOULD be gone and you'll be left with just allocating your perk points from all the XP you just received.

Is this just a bat file for the console command "player.setlevel"? And if so, how many hours does it take for the onscreen Level Up/Earn XP slider animation to stop? I set my level to 70 for my second playthrough just for the hell of it because that's where I'd capped at my previous game, and it  literally took THREE HOURS before the slider indicator and level up SFX stopped, even though it only took me about 10 minutes to allocate all my perks. I even quit my game and went back in and it just picked up where I left off.

    THREE. HOURS.

So, this is not a set level, it is just for XP, "Game.RewardPlayerXP". Everytime you fill your xp bar, you go up in level, so it COULD go on for a while; However, you do not need to worry with this. I've been able to load into my game, use my bat file, save and quit to the main menu, load back in and I can go about allocating my perks as I see fit with NO MORE ANIMATIONS :-)

HAVE MERCY! 3 HRS!?!? Oh that must have sucked! Sorry to hear that :-/  This bat file SHOULDN'T do that to you if you save and back out... At least it hasn't done it to me doing it like that. If you decide to use it, let me know if doing what I said stops the animation for you.

Oh, it wasn't that bad. I distracted myself by building at Red Rocket and armor/weapon making. LOL The fact that it kept going went from kind of amusing to wholly annoying and then back around to funny again for many laps. Still, it's not something I'm looking to repeat. This would be helpful for getting through the vanilla game ASAP so I could just build settlements to my heart's content. 🙂

I promise you, I'm not laughing AT you, but I am picturing everything you said and it's a bit amusing, lol! I can't blame you though, I wouldn't wanna repeat it either!

I hope it works out for you, HAPPY BUILDING! :-D

Just back to say this worked very well. Definitely no three-hour animation! I was able to easily incorporate it into my "cheat" bat file for a new open world game I started, mostly for the purposes of building, as well as recalculate the amount of XP for a lower level. I only allowed myself to go up to level 22 so I have enough XP to get the perks you need to build workbenches and stores for the purposes of exporting to Transfer Settlements or Clipboard.

I know there are fancier menu-driven level up mods and apps out there, but this works just perfectly for what I needed. Thanks!

Can't you just type player.setlevel [level] in console instead of doing all this work?

This bat file isn't a set level. This is a simple bat file that awards the player with XP acting like a "natural" level up. You should tread lightly using set commands. This discussion here talks about why.

Its literally a notepad text to be dropped in your root folder and can just EXIST with or without ever using it.

I made this for me not too long ago because I was looking for something with little chance to break my game and that would be easy to use. Basically, "Safe & Quick".

If my mod is too much work for you, then do not use it. It is your choice.

You say not to use console command, but your bat file is doing exactly that. Your bat file is running a console command 'CGF "Game.RewardPlayerXP" [XP AMOUNT]'.

I didn't say NOT to use CONSOLE commands. I said BE CAREFUL (AKA: TREAD LIGHTLY) using SET commands. My bat file is NOT a SET command:

player.setlevel (SET command - what you were asking about in your inital post)
      vs.
Game.RewardPlayerXP (NOT SET command - what is in my bat file)

Steam discussion is here on why you should BE CAREFUL using SET commands.

I had even made a sticky locked post at the top after my first post received from you so everyone would be clear on what exactly this bat file is and does. I don't mind answering any questions you may have (to the best of my ability), Okay :-)
