About this mod

A simple and effective mod that displays "Someone Killed Someone" or "Someone Was Killed - By Someone" with as little script as possible. I wanted to create a Kill Feed mod without any requirements, mainly for Xbox or non-F4SE users or other cases.

This mod has holotape, not MCM. Holotapes are automatically added to your inventory, or you can use a chemistry station and craft it in the "utilities" (or "settings"?) category.
;Holotape name is "[Settings] Kill Feed (Standalone)".

You can choose "Someone Killed Someone" or "Someone Was Killed By Someone" using the holotape.
;If Target is Robot/Synth/Vertibird/Turret, "Killed/Died"  = "Destroyed".
;"Died/Destroyed" would be triggered by rare cases where killer=None, like a super mutant suicide or (probably) a vertibird crash.

Unlike the original mod, it does not include "Show weapon name", and kills by the player's companions are treated as player kills. This is a tradeoff for being standalone and there is currently no way to fix it.

You can install/uninstall it any time and it's 100% compatible with all mods.

This mod does not use "Cloak Spell", as it has a performance cost and can cause unintended aggro.

I credit bp42s, because I understand from his Slow Motion Dismemberment mod that the Kill Actor Event (Story Manager) is safe to use for modding.

[Q&A]
Q: How does this work?
A: The Kill Actor Event (Story Manager) fills the victim and killer quest aliases and triggers a message with text replacement. The event is global and no script is attached to anyone.
Q: Is it possible to view the notification log? Is it possible to change the number of seconds for notifications? Is it possible to change the number of notifications displayed?
A: No. But I think there may be a UI mod that allows these things.
Q: Is it possible to change the notification text color?
A: As far as I know it's not possible.

I haven't downloaded and compared it, but functionally this mod may do the same thing.
