To facilitate the construction of entirely themed settlements, at least one 2x2 and interior building plan was created for each type of plot offered by SS2 (except for power transfer, which only got a single 1x1). The aesthetic ranges from canvas tents to rusty corrugated sheets to greeby welded steel.
Building Plan Themes:
All plots are tagged with the Brotherhood of Steel faction tag, so it can be used to filter them out, or filter out everything else. Use the City Planner's Desk.
Settler Job Outfits and Titles:
All work plots (AGR, COM, IND, MAR, MUN) have outfits and titles associated with them. You can manage outfit assignment through your SS2 settings, disabling it or (by using the default settings) limit it to only work in settlements that have armor/clothing stores (most outfits are governed by the armor store).
Construction Stages:
Compared to vanilla SS2 you might not see many visual changes when you walk up to a plot that's just upgraded. Mechanically, plot upgrades still provide the same improvements to resource upkeep/output, but making the plot levels visually distinct wasn't a priority during development. Interior plots have exactly the same appearance at all 3 levels.
Performance Settings:
Limited. Most decorations are incorporated into the plot model, but randomized clutter and moving objects can be disabled through SS2's performance settings.
Flags:
Many of these plots are intended to fit in even in non-themed settlements, so this add-on makes use of SS2's dynamic flag system. You can change a settlement's dynamic flags using the tiny flagpole on the City Planner's Desk. The BOS flag becomes available after you talk to Danse at Cambridge PD having completed the Arcjet Systems mission
Balance:
I stuck to vanilla balance. All plots use the default resource requirements and output, same as base SS2 (I think).
Foundations:
Includes 4 custom foundations: Asphalt, Rusty Metal, Sidewalk, and Steel. These aren't available as constructible objects, but they can be selected in the Plot Menu under Customize Plot -> Change Foundation. Problematically, they'll disappear if you pick up and move the plot they're attached to, so you'll have to reselect them afterwards.
Version:
Check Logs -> Changelogs for a list of changes. Theoretically, SS2 automatically handles add-on updates. So you *should* simply be able to overwrite a previous version of this add-on with a newer version of it without breaking your save file. 2.0 will probably be the last big patch, since I'm moving on to another add-on. If I come back to BPB, it'll be to add City Plans to support SS2C3 world pre-population. I'll be watching for bug reports, however.
Baseline Plots:
The goal of the Baseline Plots series (which is not a series yet) is to provide a "baseline" of faction-themed plots to players can use to roleplay faction influence on settlements. I've always liked the idea of mapping out faction territories using the settlement system. And if nothing else, making plots out of different object kits will add some extra variety to settlements.
Credit to the SS2 team, in particular Kinggath, for writing the tutorials for making SS2 add-ons. They were very clear and instructive.
I'd like to thank Pesky, msalaba, and especially Pra and XV-Versus on the SS2 Modding Discord for helping me fix my silly mistakes during development.
