Thanks for the mod! I was sick of seeing this bit every playthrough. It almost feels like they tried to design a quest with 'choices' to achieve meaningful and 'different' outcomes. Real in-depth RPG stuff🙄
Just a suggestion but how about placing General Chao's Revenge(which was sold by Trudy) somewhere in the area or giving it to one of the raiders?

Thats a good idea. Im not using legendaries at all therefore forgot about those item(s). I will see, im currently almost done with version 003. Its a Gunner outpost, and i can see much more to overhaul soon.
Honestly, what I want is for the Diner to attract new inhabitants after the player clears out the Raiders. Never a settlement we own, just an opportune stopover for caravans like Trashcan Carla's.
Or for these guys to just hang out and do their dealings as if Order Up never happens. (If you talk Trudy into just paying up, the chem pushers hang out in the front lot, Trudy and her son resume trade... So why not have it that way from the start?)
I haven't actually tried this one yet because I wanted to make sure it wouldn't derail the additions to the Diner made by Life Finds A Way. Here goes.
(If anyone wonders why I have had such strong feelings about silliness like Order Up and Kid In A Fridge, Please reread my comments!)
Update: It works, and things added in by other mods are still. (In fact, Salesman Weekly is still treated as owned-by-others instead of "spoils of stupid fight", and I was quite surprised to see the console ID refs of Trudy and Patrick the Raiders. Fun!)
Works flawlessly. Hilariously, I didn't even have to deal with the Raiders myself. Turns out there was a Protectron in the area (the one that gives you a Watzz flier) and the Raiders attacked the guy, only to be wiped out. 😂
Nice to hear. Im currently thinking of some additions to the factions and aggro radius since its totally off that NPCs would attack on sight like a they do under the present circumstances ...
What did FO4 add to FO lore? Settlements, unthinkable amounts of trash objects, new factions nobody needs, a father father story (im your father ... no im your father, your my father, arent you father? father?)
so if they arent loaded there's no way to get trudy's special sword? Hmm that sucks some people will say that sword is bad however im using unique uniques making it 1 of a fun sword to use
Interesting. Always thought the Drumlins surviving so close to major raider and feral ghoul concentrations not very believable. Does Radiant imply this is a repeatable quest where raiders will occasionally attack Trudy and son? If so, will we be notified like settlement attacks?
I can think about having them raid by raiders as an alternativ too. Like Wolfgang is the Raider leader and they totally clean the location. I have to find out how to add dialogues at some point then i can make the scene more fitting and player char can trade with the raiders if certain conditions are met.
You're questioning bethesda god tier writing team? How dare you. The password is RAILROAD, by the way... the name of our secret organization. BETCHA DIDNT THINK OF THAT ONE

- This is not a settlement mod

How often is possible to change - i dont know for certain.
I can do all what you want if there is a problem right now.

Jokes aside, I actually approve this change, they 100% would be dead.
