Wonderful! youve accidentally squashed a game breaking bug it would seem, cudos! the greenetech genetics area is seriously fucked and i dont know why in the vanilla game, but as soon as i installed this mod easy 60fps where i was getting 15 beforehand. cannot endorse enough, please post this on any support forums you see for the hunter/hunted game crash/ softlock. may require getting into the cell before adding mod, im not sure, but im there now and it seems as stable as it could be
Not sure if i'm missing something obvious but when i press the lift button to get up a message appears, "nearby signal interference is disabling this device"
Which means read the compatibility info OR SUFFER!!!!@$!
Edit: ALSO- This lift took eternity to create, then eternity to make functional, then eternity to make compatible, then eternity to customize via scripting, so as not to break the game's main questline. That having been said, there are many moving parts, figuratively and literally, so I apologize if getting this thing to work on your end is a bit of a hassle, but I promise you I had to endure worse. And I feel like it was worth it; I hope you enjoy it as well.
The lift works great, but it needs to go slightly lower so your not having to leap to enter it. Great work! It's now my new home base of operations for the Commonwealth! I'll post some pictures of my build, it's unrealistic engineering wise, but it works for me.
this looks fantastic, as soon as i get to this area (again) i will have to use this for my main home.
is it possible to have a variant without the lift?
i use many settlement mods, one of which gives a "welcome mat" that makes a fast travel location which i would use at the top once i got to the top legitimately the first time.
Players that don't fast travel don't want to run up through the building and two load screens.
Players that aren't wearing power armor don't want to run down through the building and two load screens.
Players that don't fast travel and aren't wearing power armor don't want to run through the building twice, and endure four load screens.
Why would you not want the lift?
Further question- you're using a mod that is basically a teleport cheat, why not just console DISABLE the lift? It's not like anyone is going to look over your shoulder and say 'okay, now that's going too far.'
i wasn't asking for an exclusive change, just an optional side thing, like a copy of your mod before you added the lift. that way each to their own. but if you don't want to thats cool too
i guess the best way to explain my thoughts are this.
if i built a house/base/fortress whatever on the top of a mountain i wouldn't want it to be easy to access for anybody, including myself. the building is even better because it has an internal method to get up there.
in my headspace i would have the floors below me filled with traps and perhaps a maze. so having an external lift kills that, because even if you can "lock out" the lift so nobody but you can use it, a raider or whomever could climb up the rails or whichever method the lift uses to travel. also it would be vulnerable to being damaged by them as well
i dislike the word immersion so lets say having an obvious hole in my fortress is something that would ruin my sleep
I appreciate you taking the time to write this. I've taken some time to consider it.
It's possible I can make the lift require power in the future, to function. (You could raise it, and shut it off, entirely.) It's something I'll look into. Additionally, I may be able to make it scrappable, which I wouldn't be opposed to.
However, the lift is an access point, not unlike an elevator, stairs, a door, a hatch, or a hallway. Any of the former features require a defense, and you have a settlement defense category to aid you in that. Should you want to use the space differently, I would encourage you to instead disguise it- build a room around it- make it your secret exit. There's other clever things you can do too, no doubt.
And thinking abstractly- as an attacker, If I knew about the lift- I'd chance the building's maze of god-knows-what before I let some guy with nothing but a pair of bolt cutters send me sailing down to a death-by-concrete, without so much as firing a shot.
Lopan- Wow, awesome screenshots you uploaded. But now I feel horrible because this lift update will kind of require you to take apart half your place. Both to make room for the lift, and to get stuff out of the crafting stations (to be cautious). =(
I found in internet a console command to appear settlers. player.placeatme 20593 make it appear near the artillery can be assigned, but in less than a minute forget their work and stands still.. by chance you will not have any idea how to fix this? I need artillery on that wonderful position!

Not really collecting rain, but it's towers that give water
I actually have something in mind, that I drew up, but I need a 3D modeler. =D
what do i have to do to enable it?

...and here I thought that having to jump in was a cool and unique feature!
More screenshots are always welcome. =)

If you can explain, it may aid me in future updates. You never know.
