such a small mod but makes a huge difference. makes the city feel more impactful when viewing it anywhere. you feel diamond city is actually thriving a lot more now. great work man
Good idea, seems like a very cool addition! But for some reason it's not working for me. I only entered Diamond City just now for the very first time ever (Piper in front of the door) to check out the searchlights, but there are none. Entered and exited, but still no lights, interior nor exterior. Saved and loaded, restarted the game: nothing. What am I doing wrong? Is there something I need to trigger first for them to turn on, like quest progression or something?
Mesh and *.esp are in the correct place. Mod is enabled and last on the list. Barely any other mods, so a conflict seems unlikely. FO4Edit says I'm all good. I'm still on the previous version of the game, by the way. Could that be it?
Yes, every other thing is working fine, just not this one.
Should the searchlights be visible right from the get-go when visiting Diamond City for the very first time after just starting a new game, without having done any quests? Because they aren't for me.
I just disabled every mod except for this one, but still a no-go.
I see the problem; FXLightBeamDC.nif is 0 bytes for some reason. Downloaded the mod several times with the same results. If this is something on my end, would you be so kind to send me the file through a private message?
This is such a simple but amazing mod. I didn't think it would make all that much difference other than being a nice thing to look at but it did. You can see these lights from everywhere, no matter how far away. I was at the top of the Kingsport Lighthouse and you could see these lights in the distance.
I know Diamond City already had a glow but the lights invoke the feeling that somewhere at least, civilization is trying to thrive. I feel the same way now when looking at Diamond City as I did in Fallout New Vegas when you could see Los Vegas in the distance, beckoning to you and seeming like an oasis in the harsh wasteland.
As for compatibility, I used this with my heavily modded Diamond City and it worked flawlessly. The only downside to this mod (which actually isn't one with the mod itself) is it made me long for a mod that could do something like this to the Kingsport Lighthouse or any other lighthouse we might build or occupy so that the beam could really flash out. One can hope. But that's something for another time.

Ditched. I'll use something else from now on.
Also explains why I couldn't get one other mod to ever work. I forgot about it, but now I remember. That one is working fine now as well.
Keep up the good work!

Question 2 : Would this conflict in any way with Ultra Exterior Lighting ?

2. No, it shouldn't conflict with UEL

Anyway, thanks.
