Does this mod override Weapon Scrapping Redone and Clothing Scrapping Redone?

No, no clothing or weapon recipes are contained in Reasonable Scrapping. If you're worried, place those mods to load after this one.

This mod fails work if one of the optional versions of Reasonable Scrapping is used because the ESP filenames are different and thus this patch ends up demanding a master that doesn't exist.  For example, the version to work with Valdicil's Item Sorting vanilla weights is named Reasonable Scrapping - VIS (Vanilla Weight).esp, and this mod is expecting Reasonable Scrapping.esp instead.

Would it work if the name of the master was simply changed in FO4Edit, or are there differences in those alternative versions of Reasonable Scrapping that would make this patch incompatible beyond the master filename?

Ah esp filename stuff, the bane of a modder's existence.

So, because I've never used VIS-G, or checked the VIS-G version out, unfortunately I don't know the answer to this question. I don't know how much VIS-G does or doesn't edit vanilla records or change formlists. I think your best bet is just changing the master name and finding out, really. I assume in terms of load order, it'll need to be; VIS-G, then Reasonable Scrapping, then this patch. However considering that Reasonable Scrapping edits base game forms, I'd imagine that alternate versions that edit other mods either have two levels of base game form editing or actually make new forms. Or in other words, sounds like things might become a bit of a mess.

So... I guess as a little "cheat", you could mostly run this patch without ever actually running Reasonable Scrapping if I'm completely honest. Because in order to implement the fixes to Reasonable Scrapping everything had to be new records, which makes the patch standalone. If the first method of changing the master in FO4edit doesn't work for you and you find it's incompatible in-game, then you're mostly safe to go ahead and delete the master requirement outright. There's only a couple of entries that require the Reasonable Scrapping ESP, delete those then delete the master, then you could try running this again on top of the others. Obviously make sure you run it loading after any other scrapping mod you have so they don't overwrite it.

I immediately jumped in and changed the master to the file I'm using - which I had forgotten how to do apparently - but I don't yet know if it's working.  If I notice that it's not then I'll try your suggestion of running it stag with Reasonable Scrapping disabled.
