(Copy pasted from the Desperados attempt to do the same, I'd recommend this one over it as it just updates the materials instead of shipping an empty one which might cause issues, Desperados users can use this version for the same effect as the underlying mesh names are the same.)
A quick bit of historical context here.
Before PRP 69 was generated, ossumpossum (the mod dev that did the WestonLOD fix among others, I think, I'd have to look for the author name) had contributed a mesh restoration, which added those "tentacles" which are actually parts of the shrub's branches. In Branch 69, the material file associated with the new mesh parts had also been in use with other tree meshes.
This was changed in Branch 74 to allow what this mod does and hide them with a simple material file change for those that don't like them.
Your mod description is hilarious, that's exactly how i felt when those shrubs came back after installing a bunch of mods (including the culprit Previsibines 74 )...Thank you so much for nuking them.
so uh, despite the shrub in settlements and most of areas in commonwealth are indeed gone. yet I notice some more similar but different shape of dead shrub still existing in glowing sea. Can we do the same for them as well?
I just spent a half hour replacing textures one by one to see which damnable plant material was the culprit, so I could look something related up. Also, it's good to know PRP can be the cause of this because I was more suspecting a conflict with one of the landscape mods, and now I know to test PRP for conflicts on it first instead of every kind of vegetation mod.
I rarely make comments but is it possible to add this for branch 69? I am not using 74 branch as it destroy nuka world for me (I am not using next gen patch yet cause it breaks every other mod). Using branch 74 in nuka world makes the shrubs in the market have a hole into the void and bradburton ampitheater has a giant hole when you enter the cell.
I can't, because that makes trees disappear. Only PRP 74 and later have a separate texture path for me to replace. I am using the PRP 74 build for OG - Next Gen took away my paid content, and I'm very unhappy with that. Try an updated PRP 74 build?

This shrub in particular just had to go because it was in my settlements, and it bugged me so much.
